The thing that impresses me about Niijima-san is that, in my hands, Vendetta has always felt wispy and fragile. But in his hands, it feels like playing against an angry hammer.

Yeah that was brutal. I managed to win a fair amount of combats as human midori, but I didn’t win a single combat with a dragon move (or a dodge) all set

Less stupid draws but still DeGrey nonsense.
Not sure whether I just had the reads or insane draws, but very nearly a perfect. Couldn’t win with a topdecked Q unfortunately, but won the next combat with a poke.

flagrantangles wins 3-0 vs @Hobusu
I tried to think more critically about what Setsuki could have in her hand and how she would have to play it in order to empty it (a la @cpat advice). I don’t know that I thought through it all that well, but I think there were a couple of key combats in these matches that were informed by that effort. One thing that helped a lot is that I think Hobusu had some weird opening hands for rounds 1 and 2. Also, threatening Consent of the Governed is very effective against characters with tiny bodies. I think my favorite moment was spinning Queen and then undercutting Hobusu’s 3 with Patriot Mirror. At any rate, GGs Hobusu! This was merely revenge for losing to you in this MU in IYL!

This ended with a Joker Clash followed by a Joker checkmate under bubble shield (after which I read that my Joker wouldn’t have popped the bubble anyway… Learn new things every match)
Good games! Argagarg threw me for a bit of a loop. I just couldn’t get a handle on when to be aggressive and when not to be.
