This might be a tough matchup for me. Blocking 2-cost spells would block bloodlust + 2 of my starter spells, and 3 other spells. My best anti-illusion options are mostly crash bomber and forgotten fighter, and my only anti-air early on is Nullcraft. An early Inverse Power Ninja could be Arrested or Mirrored.
For my opening, I think Fading Argonaut is a bit weaker because Arrest could take him out. Hardened Mox failed me last game, so I’ll go with a Tinkerer start.

Thoughts
Well, let’s block off Battle Suits and some other spells and get Onimaru out here to be threatening and whatnot.
The rule changes are:
Pirate Gunship:
Loses Obliterate 2.
Vandy Anadrose:
Loses Resist 1 at midband.
Garth Torken:
Midband 2/4 → 2/3.
Lich’s Bargain:
Base damage 4 → 6.
Might of Leaf and Claw:
If you have no units in play, remove all runes from this.
As expected, there has been some bad news about my spells. I’ll rely on midband Drakk + Nullcraft to deal with Aven. I keep Battle Suits in case I have a shot on Onimaru. Scavenger Neo Plexus rather than technician seems bold when there’s bad news about my apparently unethical temporal research (silly human ethics), but also MVP Drakk would be great.

Ouch. At least maxband onimari reinforces my zerg rush strat here. I don’t think he has a good attack next turn, with Fading Argonaut holding the line. It’s tempting to build a tower here, but floating for a powerful desperation next turn (hopefully) seems better.
Hey you two, could you be so kind to speed up your turns a bit? You fell a bit behind the other matches… No need to explicitly hurry, but not lingering around would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

I’m feeling okay for the moment. Let’s see what they’ve got up their sleeve.

Pirate Gunship:

In retrospect, I should have killed it with the Fading Argonaut. Then I could have put Vir in the Squad Leader and would have been less vulnerable to Arrest.
Not that I think that would have been enough. This matchup is tricky for this deck for sure.
