Thoughts

Aged Sensei hits base, play Saviour Monk, or Aged Sensei buffs Grave, build Heroes’ Hall and play Smoker. I don’t like the look of all that float, zhavier might actually be going for a Snapback here. I’ll go for the Monk.

If Grave does get hit with Snapback, I’m probably getting Setsuki rather than Rook. I’ll take Shuriken Hail, hopefully zhavier patrols his Birds if he gets them.

@charnel_mouse hope the cold is getting better, we gotta keep these last two games moving though. I’ll have to start adjudicating on Thursday if we’re not making at least 1 turn a day progress on this and our game, which both haven’t moved in over a week

Thoughts

I’d like Rook out of here, so I don’t have to deal with Birds. I’m not sure I can manage it, though. I’d need 3 more damage, but I can’t split it up correctly. Sensei’s Advice only avoids overkill if Saviour Monk attacks Rook, but then he can’t kill him. Levelling Grave still requires maxband to kill Rook. Hook for sparkshot mean I don’t have Grave to attack Rook, and I still need someone else to finish off the patrol. Having my own Rook would have worked fine here, oh well.

I’m thinking of switching over to Rook + Setsuki, since Birds + Shuriken Hail is good for forcing zhavier’s Birds to block, then killing them with Hail. Given that, I think it’s worth risking a Snapback here to maxband and kill Rook.

Thoughts

Focus Master on patrol against a potential Glorious Ninja is pretty dicey, since Grappling Hook allows a free kill. However, if zhavier does has the Hook, then putting something else in front won’t make a difference, unless I don’t patrol the Focus Master at all. But then my only ground patroller is Grave, and Snapback has the same effect.

No Grappling Hook or Shuriken Hail for sparkshot on Birds next turn if Rook comes in with them, hopefully I draw my own Bird’s Nest.

I need techs to deal with Porcupine. Grappling Vines is the obvious choice. I could also look at Vigor Adepts for surviving Glorious Ninja attacks. The other consideration is that the Fox’s Den School could turn up to make ninjas invisible, so I think I want to float my 2 gold here rather than build a Heroes’ Hall, to save for a Tower. Not playing Rook yet either, I don’t want a chance of him being hit with Snapback before I can cast Birds’ Nest.

Thoughts

I have just enough gold for worker + teched units + Tower, nice. I have the option of wiping the patrol, if I’m happy to take two damage on Grave. That leaves only Grave and the Rambasa Twins on patrol, potentially against two Glorious Ninjas. Killing the scavenger would also give zhavier enough gold for worker + Snapback on lookout Grave + Glorious Ninja #2. Maybe I don’t want to attack here, then, except to kill the front Bird. That’s leaving a lot of ground enemies alive, but if I can hold on for air power then maybe it’s fine?

Obvious tech choices are another round of Entangling Vines and Vigour Adept. Or do I want another Shuriken Hail for those Birds? Maybe, zhavier’s got a lot of little units to patrol with at the moment. That Saviour Monk makes it less useful, though. Let’s keep it simple.
