Yikes, spooky turn. Looking at potentially double Avens incoming, and I didn’t draw into Primus. Thinking about what I could prep in order to stay safe. SotF Setsuki is a nice midgame surprise, or I could just pop down a Setsuki right now because Blue isn’t threatening much damage. I’m actually thinking about maxxing Setsuki next turn and using Grappling Hook to get a shot at whatever patroller. Tech FDS, loop for a bit. This turn, I get to drop 2 gold alongside Setsuki then. Safe Attacking and Smoker? Put Smoker in Scav, have the gold to max Setsuki and also pop Tech 1 as an alternative target. Do I have anything better?

Hero and anticipating Primus next turn is fine but also expensive and SLOW. I think if I can dodge Reputable Newsman, FDS is a great way to get around Jail and similar measures, and if I’m lucky we get a block on Grappling Hook instead. I think I gotta go for it. And I can keep Setsuki pretty safe with topband ability, 3 gold plus a card for the kill doesn’t leave space for a hero (unless worker skip)

No block on birds, so let’s pivot to that. I have 4 gold after expensive tech 1 and worker, I can Primus and float that to bring out Rook? Primus is just so slow though. Is Tower better? hmm, Primus and Sensei? I can put 4 health in squad leader, 1 behind that, that needs three attackers to get through. Oni still blows through that though, if MT is present. without MT, it’s Oni and a 1/1 kill Sets, other 1/1 kills Sensei, Aven trades. which is good for me. sorta good. that leaves a full turn of development. Boot Camp and Fencers blow me up here. guess I tech Rambasa birds. Ugh I hate this worker choice.

Putting that much money into Oni seems worth it, even with snapback, as that one costs 5 to get down and it will kill his next hero for sure as well. Overall will/would be a favorable situation for me, I guess. If he goes another line: should be fine as well unless he has two tech 1 units in hand, but let’s see.
Leaving two patrollers for the off chance of facing a reversal. Don’t want to loose my Oni to that fox.
Workered away prison as there might be future interest in dreamscape on my side, then the pork will be handy. And Newman is a must keep in case of maxbanding Oni.

Yeah well, that escalated quickly :wink:
But still, GG & well played. I never saw that Setsuki line T1 which prevented my T2 MT to do major harm.
