GLHF! I’ll post a turn tomorrow.

I’ve edited the thread name to match the name given in the tournament thread, so it will link through properly. Also, I’m guessing that Scorch details section shouldn’t be there?

Thoughts

Looking around at the other matches that Nope’s deck has been in leaves me none the wiser. Yeah, Fire + Truth means he can do some silly things with Dreamscape + Jaina/Firehouse, but that’s dangerous when I have access to Sickness and Blooming Ancients, and Calamandra’s resist aura shuts that down if he doesn’t play Free Speech too. Maybe Persephone has the right idea playing Bloodburn, for reasons I won’t go into, since that game’s ongoing.

Free Speech could be a problem for my heroes, though. Carrion Curse makes spells / upgrades risky to use, even though he’s got no upgrade removal, so Plague Labs aren’t the no-brainer they’d be otherwise. I think I plan to go for Growth for Blooming Ancients, then I can risk getting a Tech Lab for Plague Labs later. Oh, Barkcoat Bears are also good if he goes for targeted stuff. No anti-air, but Disease I units should be enough anti-air, even against that damn Firebird.

No Ironbark Treant in hand to stand up to Bloodrage Ogre, unfortunately, and no spells next turn. Maybe I just put down Rich Earth, then block with a Technician Wisp. Mad Man lets the Ogre trade with the Panda, but that’s fine.

Thoughts

Is there anything I’d want the Verdant Tree for, to rush to Tech II? Can I even defend it? I’d have 2 gold for a defender, I guess I can just put Argagarg out. Without float, I’d have 3 gold, which is enough for quite a few Tech II choices. Plague Lab, MoLaC, and Blooming Elm are tempting, but I’d probably be better of going for a Gorgon. Alternatively, I’d be losing a scavenger, so unless Nope goes for a very inefficient Pillage I could go for a 4-cost card. Barkcoat Bear would be nice against all those targeted effects. I could also get Blooming Ancient, but putting it out on its own isn’t great, and I’m struggling with board presence here as it is. I guess if I go for Bears, I can also get Stalking Tigers, since they’re invisible while Calamandra is out. OK, I’ll try Bears, Nope shouldn’t be expecting me to take Feral here.

Thoughts

This turn plays itself, but I need to consider what to do from here. Murkwood Allies + Gigadon is nice if Nope doesn’t go for Disease II for Abominations. If I was facing an early Bear, what would I do? Maybe go for Quince to Mirror it. In that case, I’ll go for Sickness and Carrion Curse, to pop Mirrors and stop Quince casting Free Speech. Then I might be able to think about Cal + Gigadon/Tigers, or Rampaging Elephant.

Time for the fireworks! Of course by fireworks I mean epidemic.

how? 10 chars

Mad Man doesn’t have a - rune when it dies here, does that change anything about your turn?
EDIT: additionally, the Bear still kills Lobber, even with two - runes.

I misread Orpal maxband

so turn stays the same?

Except Lobber dies. Yes

no it doesn’t. MM pings armor. sac ramba to give - rune, BB now 4/4. Sickness-> now 3/3, orpal attacks, two more - runes. bear becomes 1/1. so lobber survives.

Oh, right, I forgot about the runes from Orpal, sorry.

OK, but can you do that again?

Rampant Growth

Thoughts

No Tech II from Nope, so maybe there’s a Death and Decay incoming. Another Bear + Sickness should still give him trouble, though. I can either kill Orpal or stop him casting with Carrion Curse soon, so I feel secure to tech an Elephant. I’ll put in a Tiger too, in case another targeting threat appears in the meantime. Keeping the Panda over the Shambler, in case I do go for Gigadon.
