I got the Musketeer, but now that I think about it, I don’t want to lose a guy to Nullcraft. Play the Ogre for maximum hero-killing threat next turn, instead.

Thoughts

Option 1: Flame Arrow the Executioner, Charge + Firebat + Jaina hit your Tech I. Worker, I draw 3. Likely result: Mox kills Jaina, Worker, maxband Midori or midband Midori + 4/3 Neoplexus. Either way maxband Zane kills Midori, I draw 4. The /next/ turn, you play a tech I (executioner? argo/bone collector + geiger + now?), probably your tech II, assuming Present b/c Hyperion/Immortal is good. I have 4 ??? cards, and can make a tech II? might still have firebat?

Option 2: Flame Arrow the Executioner, Firebat + Ogre, Jaina hits something, worker, I draw 3. Likely result: you… idk. If you Tech II, you probably can’t kill Firebat and definitely can’t execute Ogre, and I can pay a lot to max Jaina + Firebat and burn it down, whereupon your counterattack kills my very expensive Jaina. Could potentially also clear a path for Rambaster + unit to kill it, which leaves me with better board position. I’m considering that you attacking with Hyperion probably results in me losing the game, that card is just bananas. Otoh if you never get the chance to play Hyperion I will eventually lose too much value to your 2/1 Mox.

Option 3: I leave Executioner and play Ogre in Leader, Musketeer in Tech, Firebat in Scavenger, worker Charge. If you have Nullcraft + Boosted Executioner you wipe me, but I’ll have 11g and can do some real mean stuff with Drakk.

Thoughts

One Hyperion is in your Codex, so you can tech it in and reanimate it next turn with Garth. Hopefully your other T2s are all in your discard, cuz if they’re in your hand I’m in trouble. Hence the convoluted Zane shenanigans to keep you from drawing a card off of Technician.

I think my path to victory relies on keeping your 4g Tech II down and generating passive card advantage off of dead draws, because I’m spending way more gold killing things than you are casting them. Surprise Attack is probably not going to help my gold efficiency, but I don’t think I’ll have 4g to spend on my own T2 to get the vastly more efficient and reusable units. On the other hand, I’m ending my turn with 10 power worth of stuff in play, and didn’t lose immediately to Lich’s Bargain, so that’s something.

(commits techs, draws, looks at next hand: well shit.)

edit: 0 cards in discard, not 10.

quite a blow - especially that you denied my technician…

teching in 2g-units to maximize my chances to be able to draw one and cast now! - which would mean i can kill zane

…that 1 damage would actually have let me kill your Tech II. Jaina hits mox, sparks skeleton, Firebat flames zombie, Ogre trades with Horror, rambaster + lv 1 zane kill t2.

Then mox & garth kill zane & rambaster, 2g to resurrect Argonaut, play another Argonaut…
