Thoughts

We both know our strategies, and his strategy A can counter my Strat B and my B his A. I think he will mix and first go Balance Tech2 and later switch to MoP and Gunship. I have to play aggressive otherwise I have no chance with rich earth.

I am almost sure he will tech 2 basilisks to kill Vandy. His whole obsession is always about killing Vandy. I offer her in case he has rampant grwoth, but probably he would not take it. But he will think about it …

I try it with PBR, because he is always telling me I should not play it and everyone is workering her directly. Probably he will mess with the tree with his cycle to bring two basilisks in t3. If he does I have to do the same.

MP has to die otherwise he can play unit + hero and I even cannot kill the hero due to Vandys max ability wo skipping tech1. This gives him a card back and me one down…

young treant gives me 60% chance to draw both tiny b next turn. cub in technician gives me 54% to draw them both. Both options let PBR survive. Panda with wisp in elite lets him sacrifice PBR (at least I think so), but only has 36% probability to draw both basilisks… treant also gives 20% to draw MP again, which would be just awesome, but if I don’t draw him it’s just too defensive

OK at least putting Vandy in SL worked and he was writing me several seperate messages under which cirumstances he would have killed Vandy. But the distraction was not enought to make a mistake. Maybe later…

I have to clear the board first, unfortantely without any advantage. Elite was the right decision. Soon his rich earth will start to pay off…

Now starts the tricky part. Midband Vandy: With rampanth growth he will kill vandy, which cost him 5. I am pretty sure the last two ones he would invest in in a basilisk. With his draw the probability is quite high that he has at least one. With StW and one fencer I can kill zane. If he does not invest in a basilisk and midband zane I would reqire two fencer, which I probably will not have. But it is still OK.

With two basilisks I definetly need to midband Vandy and even then the odds are not good. Summon skeletons will not help at all. Midori, basilisk, basiliks would be the worst case. It will depend on how he patrol. At least I have StW. I think I have no choice…

Cardets would be a great trade with basilisks. But if I draw only one Midori will kill it and the basilisk will kill Vandy. Not working either.

I cannot keep the haunt I need at least one fencer…

I’d love to worker this MP, as it keeps dying to deteriorate, but I also definitely want to have a unit in play to protect my basilisks against StW…

I am a bit afraid of him sacrificing vandy in order to attack my handsize after me going down on cards that hard. If so, let’s hope he doesn’t discard my young treant.

Really worst case with even MP… From comments he wrote me I conclude he was not sure with his progress. Whenever this happens he switches to Gunship rush. I am not sure, but currently I put him in Gunship rush and moments of peace not balance.

Perfect setup for his patrollers and units… He did consider StW and Det.

Version 1: Det. MP, STW, Fencer, Max Vandy kills oni, fencer trades with basilisk. 1g, 3 cards… Vandy is an target for midband zane which cost him 5g. He will not kill her, since he probably need his tech2. At least he has no tech1 units next turn. Not too bad, not too good. I think only choice I have…

Version2: Det. MP, STW, Card draw, fencer + unit (Jav. PBR, fencer). 0-1g 3 cards… 2 units in play. He has only two attackers so he will not reach Vandy. DP in the deck which is great. But he will kill SL, and with the right unit I cannot do anything about it and in two turns he might have a strong attack. One gold missing for Imp, then this would be a valid option.

Version3: Det. MP, STW Fencer in SL and Vandy in technician. With RG I am done

Version4: Somehow I feel missing something. If someone has a better idea please tell me…

Next turn: tech2 4g, Fencer 2g, Vandy fetch DP 1g, worker 1g - 8g

I will go with starlet and Maestro. If I want to do the fencer rush I can still switch if he techs discipline…

Ok, he killed her. A mistake due to his obsession :slight_smile: , or did he already planned it unitl turn7?

Now I am almost sure gunship rush with moments of peace. With balance tech 2 he would have gone for an easier Vandy kill. he already wrote me a message with calculating probabilities for his plan, what he is usually doing with MoP.

Gunship in 3 rounds with his tree in 2 rounds. But two rounds will not work with his gold. He should have now 2 moments of peace in. I could fetch meta in 3 turns, but I need three heros out at that time. So probably hh and I cannot play the fencer rush. So I need DP. Maybe I can get blademaster in if I can stop midori before gunship. I cannot stop Gunship. Even a pumped up lizzard or air hammerer will not work with MoP. Only chance is to be faster.

Ideal Next turn: Max Vandy 6, Maestro 9 DP, DP Some fencer and Starlets - I cannot afford a fencer now and must rely on the card draw.

OK now it is set and the drawing will decide the game… I have no safe plan to stop that strategy, if I don’t have an advantage on the board until this turn. Basilisk, MoP and Gunship are hard.

Post draw: OK really bad no DP. Probably that’s it.

I don’t understand why he needs the tree, because next turn he has no money for Gunship, but OK.
Probably he was afraid of tech 2 kill.

OK now his current draw will decide the game. If he has a haste unit he will kill oni, and I am done. If I can cast Meta on Oni and River next turn, I have enough defense and can go for a base race even against gunship and probably win. Without MoP I still have a slight chance with fencer. that lizzo was meant for a stealthy vandy kill, I didn’t expect him to instant maxband her. that 3 hero meta threat really is a big one, so at least his Oni has to die. Really unfortunate I don’t have one gold more for FF the lizzo to trade with vandy and cast a moment’s peace. now let’s see whether I’m about to get overrun by virtuosos or whether he goes the two hero meta route. Either way the question remains: am I fast enough??

Ok that’s it, he had the card to kill Oni… My hand is not strong enough to fight through all the soldier, and he has enough gold for Gunship. The probability is quite high that he has at least one, so it does not matter if I kill the technician.

I could make him discard two cards, but then my position is too weak, and other cards like lizzard can kill me as well.
