Hmm, didn’t consider the option of cleaning out your tech buildings.
I think you made a solid choice
Got lucky with my Hyperion attack proc this turn else my turn would have looked a little messier

If that all checks out we can post-mortem
Very nice, wanna play it back with you as p1?
Thanks ggwp.
Was there a way for you to exert more pressure on T5?
I was surprised when I was able to untap with Max and tech 2.
I feel the whole TD/Now/Max/Prynn engine with Present Tech is pretty degenerate. Doesn’t seem to need tech 3 (which is lucky because that octo thing is balls).
Is there a consensus on going first vs going second?
It’s fairly common to just alternate first and second.
Going to Tech III isn’t necessary for most tech paths, so that doesn’t say much about its power level. Tech III is mostly a way to end stalemate situations where neither player can quite break through the other’s defenses—one way or another, once someone goes for Tech III the game is going to end soon, but that can just as easily be because paying for the Tech building left you unable to defend it rather than because playing it won you the game.
As for Present Tech II being overpowered? Nah, it’s definitely strong, but there are enough ways to beat it that I wouldn’t call it degenerate.
Yeah I don’t think degeneracy necessarily means ‘op’, as much as it means ‘a point in which the game becomes less interactive because one player has their actions invalidated’.
I think there are certain combinations of cards that can generate inordinate amounts of value, such that whatever the opponent does kind of becomes moot. It felt ‘pretty degenerate’ because I could do so much stuff. More than it seems like you can usually do on a given turn.
a bit like the [necro]/blood/truth. between graveyard and mirrors, you can summon so many carshbarrows in a single turn that if you reach that point is usually game.
Perhaps, but I think I just forced myself to slow the pace there and get cards back. My play didn’t quite line up so I had to extend further to shut you down before that. It’s the whole reason I told you
Cool I’ll start game 2 in a little while.
