GG! Was expecting to be facing Ancients or Hyperions/Tricycloids after your solid opening board position. The Garguam plan with green spells was a surprise, but I ended up feeling I could handle the Tech3 game OK.

What a truly terrible split. All of my good cards in the first hand. Nullcraft is strong against Deteriorate, but easily sac’d by StW, and provides no defense against Zane. Fargo dies easily to StW or Zane+Det. Mox is solid, but putting out only 1 damage on T1 ad P1, with no prospect of boosting it next turn with BS, sounds pretty weak, too.

So my plan is to skip T1 for a while, play an expensive bounce with FF, and get a max Vandy by T2 by killing his hero, then see where we can go from there.

Vandy goes into SQL to avoid trading with midband Zane (which would be a ridiculously aggressive play on his part, but who knows?).

That was exactly the first turn I was hoping for. If he had put Garth in SQL, this wouldn’t have worked as well; I would have saved $1, but left Skele on the board. He can respond with a trade from max Zane + Haunt, but that’s probably not favorable for him. I’m teching Now! in case he trades, and Meta in case he doesn’t, forcing the Tower.

After the draw… would have preferred the Now in this hand and the Meta in next, but we’ll see. If he turtles with Tower or kills Vandy outright, I’ll probably do some combo of Mox+BS/Tech I/HH or Nullcraft+Tech I/HH. If he doesn’t Tower and doesn’t kill Vandy, then I’ll Meta and bust something.

GG! Think your deck would play better with Black starter (esp. as player 1). In this game, Deteriorate could have done for free what Forgotten Fighter did for $3 on your T2.

Yeah; but the deck was built to play Arg cards: Argagarg Garg, Fading Argo, Argo, Gargoyle. Cutting Fading Argo cuts a quarter of my Arg factor!

Let’s see how Graveyard works out against the Rich Earth open, look to recycle the good 2-cost units in my specs (BCs, Tiny Basilisks, etc). Potent Basilisk would discard his Rich Earth upgrade later on, if I end up going Balance.
