Note to self: no Tech I makes a weak turn 3.
I can either re-play the Imp or midband Orpal. 2/4 in SQL is immune to everything except Origin Story, and it would force a reshuffle and guarantee Tech Is turn-after-next. Hanging on to the Imp arguably wastes the extra cards from Surplus…? I still need to kill it, question is which spec. Blackhand Dozer and Cursed Ghoul should both be able to wreck it pretty hard for 4g. (Corpse Catapult???)
Should have seen that Stewardess of the Undone is the obvious counter to skipping Tech I, though.

9 gold and 6 cards is pretty good odds for Geiger + Hyperion + TD + Hyperion for two whacks, but critically cannot play Battle Suits as well. I don’t think I have a way to survive all that card advantage, so let’s just hope it doesnt happen.

Cursed Ghoul can break Surplus in one hit and chip at Immortals, but Geiger/TD can deal with -1/-1 runes effectively and it doesn’t kill Hyperion to prevent a second flickered attack. Abomination is huge and beefy and blocks Immortal/Hyperion for breakfast. Gorgon kills Hyperion and ties up the card war, but not Immortal. Tricycloid remains problematic and is probably your best option for killing Orpal regardless.

I was doing the math with 3-power Orpal – you’re one damage short of being able to kill tech I if he puts a counter onto Stewardess – but if I move him to Elite, you kill him with Stewardess + Hyperion, and Hyperion 2 + 1/2 Glaxx take my tech 1. Summon Skeletons might have bought me a turn, but then I wouldn’t have the gold to move to Tech II and I can’t fight Tech II Present with Tech I units.
I think I lost by staying at Tech 0 vs. Stewardess, and wasting the 2g/card on Graveyard that never did anything. I also teched a Dark Pact that filled up hand space and did nothing.
Would you like to play again? I’ll stick with Black.
