@Nekoatl So my biggest dilemma is that I want to enter a tourney with monoblue but black dominance is always expected in the regular tourneys. Nightmare is an even bigger issue than monoblack or other multicolor with black starter. P2 blue will struggle hard against vandy start and this is really discouraging.
Not given up yet though and want to see if training will guide me one way or the other. Can you drive Nightmare against my monoblue?

It’s funny you should mention that, as I was thinking the same thing earlier today. I’m much more familiar with the straight-up Black vs. Blue matchup (and I’d love to have Orpal available to counter that strong opening), but I’ll certainly give this my best shot. I completely agree that Blue will have a much harder time as P2.

Since Orpal’s not available, I think my best option here is to sacrifice a Skeleton to hold Onimaru at bay. Then again, I could also go crazy and dump Jandra in Elite. Either way, it’s a losing proposition in terms of value, though. However… considering the risk of Arrest (or even MTruth/Aven), it’s probably better not to lead with a hero, and if he does trade out Onimaru, I may have an easier time defending next turn.

Yeah, this card distribution is definitely tilted in his favor, but I’ll just have to power through that Inspector. At least it only taxes one building per turn. There really is no good way to defend this, but I’ll just have to sacrifice a hero to stall, I guess. Probably best to offer up River, there’s a chance he won’t take the kill to crowd out Vandy, maybe? Probably not, but if he does take the kill, I’ll have both Black heroes available, which is a plus.
