Maybe I just play against Black too often, but WGD seems so risky and I always feel fine about doing Hyperion / Tricycloid shenanigans straight up. That always seems like a better choice to me
Yeah, you never do it against Black because the WGD just dies to Deteriorate / Sickness / Orpal mid-band / a Skeleton attacking. Against anyone else, though, it can be a potent threat (be sure to account for whatever flying/haste/stealth your opponent might have, though).
against a black starter, i would never play wgd. but against a deck with no hasted stuff and no direct dmg (like ember sparks) it can be very good
