I played this turn to not use the Basilisk against anything that hits back so that it’s got full HP and can take a feather rune next turn. With a clear board he can’t copy the Basilisk to use against me, which makes things much safer. I’m definitely teching a second Fairie Dragon, but throwing in a Feral Strike since I have a maxband Cal anyway and it’s hard to counter Balance units and spells. Not sure what the Tech Lab is going for but I figure a 4HP Tech I is breakable with Calamandra or a Dragon so I’m happy with that.

I’m really not sure what’s best here. Not enough to turn things around for me, sadly! I think I’ll fold here, I can’t keep up with those maxed heroes on the board. Well played! I was attempting to experiment with putting insurance on a Debilitator Alpha, but I think I’d have been better off doing that with a Guardian of the Gates and building a much-needed Tower. Anything else obvious that I’m missing here, outside of not going for the Peace engine?

I think you covered it all pretty well. Tower was definitely the main thing I was happy to not see on the board as it let me build a hefty board advantage. I’m beginning to think of it as essential for Blue vs Green, certainly vs P1 Green with Calamandra.

I was wondering where the Tech Lab was going, it would have been pretty interesting if you’d managed to get Tech II live!

My guess is that thehug0naut is going for either Midori midband or Behind the Ferns to get more mileage out of those Frogs. The latter can be stopped with Reputable Newsman, and I can block Nature Reclaims trashing the Jail at the same time. The former is more of a problem, I think my best response is Free Speech, then any wounded Frogs die immediately. There could be also be a Galina incoming, but the Jail should slow that down a bit.

Thoughts

Bigby casting Injuction or Judgement Day feels like the major threat here so I’m going to go down in cards to be rid of him. This way nothing can prevent me getting MoLaC on board next turn and he has to spend resources killing my units to stop it activating. I’ll have 10 gold next turn short of any taxation so I’ll have plenty of resources to invest in board presence. Elm and Feral Strike provide me with two additional win conditions that should help me reach inevitability.

No worries! Glad to hear things are better. I’ve been appreciating a slower rate of play, to be honest, daily turns can be a bit stressful!

Thoughts

This is rough. I can’t reach Calamandra so I could do with teching up to deal with Growth II, but I also need to take out some of those tokens so MoLaC doesn’t activate instantly if it arrives this turn. I could do with playing cards to do that and still have units on the board, but then I’ve got less chance of drawing into Injunction etc. Tigers can be stalled if I draw Injunction, so I’m not as worried about those, same with Feral Strike summons. Maybe I just kill one token and take the risk? Three tokens can’t kill Quince or Onimaru without assistance, but there’s a good chance of an Argagarg buff incoming. I’ll empty my hand and take out what I can.

Teching in Censorship Council to slow down the Ancients engine, and Elite Training to get some more pressure going. Elite Cadets could take out two tokens without dying, pretty handy. Next tech is Dreamscape for the Ancients, I think.
