Rough turn to get silenced, and a rough turn to draw Rampant Growth. Spore Shambler will just about allow me to clear zhavier’s board again, though.
Killing Quince instead of Tech II here, because with another Tiny Basilisk in the deck I’m pretty confident about dealing with zhavier’s Tech IIs if I have spell/ability support.
… Bloodlust’s useless with Drakk recovering, but I have enough to put Basilisk and Barbarbarian down, plus either Tech III or maxband Midori.
That spore shambler was what put me over, otherwise I thought I was at least still in the game. But honestly, I dont think my codex has a good win condiion in this matchup. Blood plus Strength form a nice pair, but my token spam couldnt stand up to all the options blood and strength had.
There were definitely enough options that I didn’t feel worried about Lich’s Bargain, but I did get lucky on drawing a Bloodlust to deal with it both times.
As for win conditions… I don’t know. Truth might do OK if you could keep Macchiatus safe from flyers/kidnapping? Necromancers/Catapult to mitigate Blood clearing the board? I haven’t played with either of those specs, so I’m just guessing.
Happy to play it back, with or without a different codex.
Rough start again here. Treant can only be killed with Arrest, Manufactured Truth, and a Spectral Aven, so he should be safe. The Prospector is more of a liability, but he can sit there either as a gold sponge, or to help clear the board with Drakk next turn. No point putting him in scavenger, one gold doesn’t get me anything on top of a worker and midband Drakk, or on top of a worker, Tech I, and Panda, even if the building inspector is still alive.
Not an ideal patrol, but I think it’s the best way to prepare for a Manufactured Bone Collector. The Wisp can be killed for free, but a Frenzied Ironbark Treant can threaten the real Bone Collector, even if it’s the Squad Leader.

Let’s see:
1 gold for a worker, 5 for midband Drakk, Treant and Wisp kill Rook, Panda kills Bone Collector, Prospector kills Building Inspector. I’m left with maxband Drakk, he’s left with Reputable Newsman.
If I exhaust the Prospector, I can instead trade Tiny Basilisk for the Bone Collector, then Panda kills Newsman. I’m left with maxband Drakk, a 2/2 Panda, and a 1/1 Prospector, he’s left with Building Inspector. Inspector can’t be used as a Manufactured attacker without dying afterwards, unlike Newsman, plus I have other things on the board if Drakk gets hit with Doom Grasp.
Go up to Tech II. With Building Inspector out, this takes all my gold.
With Manufactured Truth possible, I want to keep the board small and simple. Going for option 2, and then zhavier shouldn’t be able to risk going for Tech II first.
EDIT: actually, with 2 float he probably can afford to get Tech II. Hopefully that Basilisk will let me punch through and do something about it.

Ooh, Truth. Never played against that before. I’ll go Blood for the Gliders, so it’s a bit easier to get at Macciatus. If I bring in another Bloodlust, those and the Crash Bombers should clear illusions and Lich’s Bargain if Macchiatus isn’t in play. If he is, I can get to him with Gliders or a midband Rook. Only problems are if he’s made invisible by Eyes of the Chancellor, if he blocks with a Roc, or, more mildly, if Quince casts Hallucination or Dreamscape while he and Reteller of Truths are out. I can stop the former with a tower, so no need for a Nature Reclaims. He could also do Dreamscape + Thunderclap, but I’m keeping the board small and it won’t work against the Bugblatters I’m planning for.
I could bring in Basilisk and Crash Bomber here, but I’d rather risk bottom-decking them to get a tower up, just in case Macciatus and Eyes of the Chancellor come out.
EDIT: Ah, I’d forgotten Macciatus also boosted illusion stats. Looks like I’ll be needing another Basilisk.

At least he’s not floating anything for Tech III yet. I can take out Macciatus this turn, but I really hope he doesn’t have two copies.
There’s probably about 4 cards I want to tech here. Vines to lock down Tech II illusions, especially Rocs. Another Basilisk to cut through boosted illusions. Thunderclap to get to Macciatus, but that can wait while I deal with the Newsman. Kidnapping to make Macciatus get himself killed. Bugblatters would be nice, but I don’t think I can afford to take in over something with higher attack. Crashbarrow to get through a boosted illusion with damage to spare. Really don’t know what’s best here.
… OK, it sucks to draw the Glider just after I’ve killed Macciatus, but at least I didn’t draw a Bloodlust. Spore Shambler’s the only targetting option I’ve got here, so I’m hoping there aren’t too many Tech II illusions coming at me this turn.

Jail negates Drakk’s maxband, but I can’t reach it this turn. Instead I’ll go to Tech III and see how zhavier reacts. I wanted another tech round to put in a Bugblatter anyway, getting out a Commander too would be great.
