[details=Thoughts][spoiler]
With Geiger Now! and Mirror Soldier, I can clear his patrol with Sparkshot. Patrolling with Quince, Bluecoat, and a new Mirror after that might give me a turn to stabilize. But in all likelihood Cesare will be able to put some hasted damage on the board (Crashbarrow), especially if I help him draw another card, which could clear my board enough to maybe take out my Tech II with a leveled Cal. And what’s my end goal there (besides hilarious trolling)? Have Geiger survive to haste out a Hound?

Or I could play Tech III and Tech Lab (Anarchy). If I patrol Geiger and Quince (and everybody right), and Tech in Steamships, there’s a chance I might draw one off a dead Technician… but only if I don’t attack with Geiger, which leaves him a lot of Sparkshot dudes to clear my board with. But maybe, just maybe, he can’t put out enough dudes with Haste to take out my Tech Lab. (But then why did he build the Heroes’ hall, if not for Bloodlust?) But I’m pretty sure I can’t come up with a patrol where he can’t wipe my board with what he’s got and still send Max Cal in to take out the Tech Lab.

I guess we try to stabilize and troll with option 1.

[details=Thoughts][spoiler]
I realized belatedly (a couple hours after posting my last turn) what I should have done. I should have built Tech III and the Tech Lab, and used the Lab as a feint. I think he might have had enough to take out my Heroes’ Hall, but not my Tech III if I patrolled correctly. If I had brought in Zane instead of Geiger, and managed to float $1, then I could have given myself a chance to draw Octavian, bring in Geiger this turn, and give Octavian haste. It was just a chance, but it would have been cool.
I have to give Cesare props for the Bugblatter win condition. I love it.

I’m could have Zane and Hound trade with Oni, leveling Geiger and Cal, and Build my Tech III. Then I hope that he doesn’t kill Geiger and break my Tech III, assuming that breaking my Tech Lab, Tech I, and Tech II is good enough, and Tech in Octavian. I need Geiger for Now! (assuming I draw it and Octavian; big “if”), so I can’t patrol him. No blockers means two bugbladders and Cal waltz in and destroy my base directly.

If I just put down patrollers, he will either kill them and take out my base, or throw wave after wave of his own frogs against them, weakening my base to almost nothing, then take out my base.

If I exhaust Geiger to draw and hope to draw Chameleon Lizzo, I could take out a Bugbladder, but then (again), that brings my base down to 10, everything is vulnerable, not enough money for Zane and Tech III.
So. I have lost this. I get to choose how I go out. Let’s get the spite kill on Oni. And if I’m going to die, it’ll be by bladders. So screw Tech III. Let’s Tech monkeys and see what Geiger draws!
Chaos Mirror! Interesting! A fine way to go out!
Mirroraculously, I didn’t take any bladder damage on this turn. I’ll get some as I die, I’m sure.

So I ended up somehow moving one of my cards (a Boot Camp) into my Deck instead of Discard. I should have only had 4 cards to draw last turn so moving the card into discard and drawing the only other card in my deck solves it pretty easily. Just wanted to let you know.

Anyway, you’re right, you lose. GG WP, mirror shenanigans were fun to watch. :slight_smile:

Thanks so much for playing!

Yeah, when you said I should play this deck instead of the Blood/Demon/Strength because you wanted to “avoid the mirror match,” the irony was pretty rich.

This was my first time playing the deck, and all I wanted from it was mirror shenanigans, so after Turn 3 I was completely satisfied. I was also so happy I lucked into drawing my Chaos Mirror on the final turn; it was just the way I wanted to go out.

I was pretty sure you had me for a while, though there might have been times when I could have gone up in Tech rather than concentrating on hurting your board. I tend towards hyper-aggression in most games. But it definitely didn’t help that I didn’t have any pre-defined game plans for a win condition. I loved your Bugbladder win. I’m reading through your thoughts now. (:

Yeah Bugblatters are pretty cool. I wonder if Necro/Blood/Feral might work toward a little better if specifically aiming toward bugblatters. I think you’ll be amused by my thoughts as 1) I completely misread the goals of your deck and 2) Bugblatters as a wincon aren’t necessarily the goal of the deck, I just convinced myself that you wouldn’t let me get a full Garrison/Drill Sergeant plan going so I needed an alternative.
