[CAMS21] Round1: P1 FrozenStorm [Anarchy]/Strength/Growth vs P2 OffKilter [Ninjutsu]/Necromancy/Anarchy

I guess I can look again. My first attempt at that turn would have left me open to you killing my hero and tech 1, which would be unrecoverable. Tonight I’ll see if I can come up with something that isn’t overextended, and we’ll if we can keep it interesting.

Thoughts

Wow, the Blooming Ancient is powerful with Argagarg! I wasn’t expecting that.

I wanted to kill the tech II, but that would have left the ogre and friends on the board to trash my stuff, no good. So new plan, attack a bunch and hope that the better tech doesn’t trash me before I can get some necromancy spell to handle it!

@FrozenStorm’s turn!

Yeah see that seems bad for me…

Thoughts

Looks like the remaining bird + blood burn will be able to deal with the flagbearer. FrozenStorm is still holding on, but with 2 cards in his hand he might finally falter soon. I was surprised to see Might of Tooth and Claw. I suppose it’s good to have a win condition, but if he’s in the position to go to 2 cards in hand I’d expect that building a tower instead and getting the extra card draw would be better. Maybe he’s hoping to build a tech lab?

Teching another cheap Vystatri seems good with these card draws. Shuriken Hail seems weird here, but it would have helped the last couple of turns so let’s try it.

@FrozenStorm’s turn!

Your flagbearer still takes 1 damage, since rook still gains the elite attack bonus.

Sharks save the day, MoLaC online, perfecto, that’s probably GG then

Naw he has safe attacking so the 1 damage is armored, everything’s cool here

Nice surprise attack! I think that’s GG, ehh?

I think it would be tough to come back from this point, yes, but I’m happy to play it out if you have something up your sleeve

I don’t have enough up my sleeve, no. Very good game, thanks for playing :smiley:

GG WP! Nearly lost control to the maxband Sets there, you do have great cheap stuff to lay down and lacking full board clears it was close to critical mass! I’m curious why not break the tech2 on Turn 5? That might have made the difference if I don’t get to lay down MoLaC

1 Like

yup, i thught the same.

I think I didn’t quite have enough to break it AND keep safe. The first time I played out that turn I broke the tech 2 but left the ogre and argagarg alive, which is enough to just smash Setsuki and/or my Tech 1. I think from my position losing Setsuki at that point would have been a loss state, where with your low card draw I could hope that you didn’t benefit from the Tech 2 that turn… Anyways, I haven’t played enough to really know the odds, but that’s how I was thinking about it.

If I’d had the Gunpoint Taxman that I lost from that mistake, on the other hand, I should have been able to keep Setsuki alive AND broken the Tech 2.
