Ooof, not my ideal turn 1 hand… really would have liked to get Haunt, and have something I actually want to worker. In 7 games this tourney I have not once played StW, it’s a little expensive and late-game for this deck, so I think I’ll worker that. Who knows if that’s a good choice, who knows if I have any idea how to properly play this matchup.

XD Idk, I’m not fooling myself that I really know my limits on this deck, and Zhav’s a better player, so I’ll just try to push the tempo and see what I can get away with. The crazy part of my brain wonders about using ANOTHER lich’s bargain… If I somehow draw assimilate, i could grab a gy by skipping a worker. If I grab FF, I can destroy gy, fargo is a better blocker, and battle suits and time spiral are useless atm. I’m gonna gamble on the draw.
Reasonable thing to do here is probably to fold, but hey I’ve had stranger things happen on this deck XD

My Thoughts
Well this is a tough spot, but the good thing is I have a strong econ advantage, and an inside track on a base race. That Assimilate doesn’t feel like it was the wisest choice of Zhav’s limited resources, as the Graveyard was not hyper-critical to my plan. I could just blow it up right now w/ Lust and Kidnapping, but then I’m not really workering or advancing my position meaningfully, so I think I’ll just kind of turtle a little, use Lust to pick off that other stuff, and hope I can run Zhav out of steam while peppering his base. Pretty much my only out remaining. Decent chance he breaks the tech 1 here, or maybe goes straight face, I spose we’ll see

that was indeed a lucky hail mary turn. LB is such a big swing, even though you cast it too, i definitely gained the momentum. I was really worried youd stall me out and force my econ disadvantage by drawing out the game. But instead, we just threw all the punches at each other.
