STARTING HAND

Bloodlust

WORKERS
Morningstar Flagbearer
Fox Viper

Lich’s Bargain
[/spoiler][/details]
Tech 2 card(s)
Get Paid - ($10)
Grave - ($8)
Martial Mastery, discard 1, draw 2, check out your hand (!!!) - ($7)
-> whiff x 2 (missed Crashbarrows, Snapback) means I can’t kill either WGD or Geiger. And have just seen your powerhouse hand, Temporal Distortion + flicker + WGD summon next hand.
Can safely say GG !
That was a beautiful combo and great Present teching and play.
And not very smart of me to bring out Drakk last turn, should have delayed bringing him out until he could make a good play. Still, close game up till then, and glad to see my deck doesn’t necessarily crumble against a strong P1 hero open.

Very nice combo ! Was probably bad play by me to bring out Drakk last turn, should have kept him safe from Present shenanigans until he could arrive with a big play. Only saving grace is he skipped a worker for the second time this game.
Problem is that max Geiger and WGD both feel like “must kills”. I can kill one or the other but not both by maxing Garth to summon a Shoddy Glider. Alternatively, play Grave and Martial Mastery for 2 draws and hope to hit a good card out of the 9 in deck:
- either of the 2 Crashbarrows is great -> kill both Geiger + WGD.
- Snapback also good -> switch Geiger for lvl 1 Grave/Zane, then Rambasa Twin kills WGD
- Reversal allows me kill Geiger along with Rambasa Twin, but leaves WGD alive. I guess he summons a solid unit with WGD (eg Mind Parry Monk, Kidnap-proof), builds Tech3, and I’m as good as dead from Gunships.
With 3 good cards to aim for, there’s a 58% chance of hitting at least one.
Compromise approach is to mid Garth, make and sac a Skeleton for draw, 33% chances of drawing a good card, if not can max Garth for the Glider and still be just in the game.
tbh, think I really need to kill both Geiger and WGD or this game is going to run away, so let’s go for Martial Mastery, odds are not bad.
…
Big whiff – drew Bloodlust and Land Octopus ! Bloodlust, Kidnapping and Octopus, all great Drakk cards when Drakk is out, feel dumb for playing him last turn. Lesson learned!
