Can’t see an open that doesn’t lose $2 in value if he has the right T2 hand. So just playing Safe Attacking for some deck slimming, and will play units+Tower or units+Garth/Skelly next turn. Unfortunate for this approach that my good 2-drop (Saviour Monk) is in T1 hand.

Putting down a board – though position will go from bad to completely sunk if he gets the 35% draw of Sensei’s Advice + Grappling Hook for board wipe with hero kill. If not, I’ve a stabilizing option of max Garth to summon Rambasa Twins next turn.

Teching 2xBone Collectors. Don’t know if Lich’s Bargains would be better to stop the Grave juggernaut, just nervous taking the Base down to 13HP so quickly.

T3 and already looks hopeless. Maybe there was a better line to play (eg T2 Tower, no hero, look to block with Lich’s Bargain). But like facing P1 Vandy, there’s no safe answer to Grave+Sensei, just have to make some percentage play and accept you’re screwed if he draws the cards he needs against that.

Hoped you wouldn’t draw both Grappling Hook and Sensei’s Advice T3 – then Garth would survive and I could max him T3 to summon Rambasa Twins as a way to stabilize. Maybe there was a better defensive line, eg keep a hero off the board longer, or try something with Lich’s Bargain? But couldn’t come up with anything decent that wouldn’t fail badly if you turned up with the right cards. Doesn’t help that my main defensive hero open (Garth/Skellies) walks into sparkshot. Also see that you had Grappling Hook in your T2 hand, so think any of the plays I could have made with my T1 hand would have worked out poorly.

Any ideas? Looks like there will be plenty of Grave openers to face this tourney.

Bloodlust was the only concern I had, but even then, not sure what you could have done with it. And sometimes giving up hero levels isn’t so bad if it means something better survives. But yea, 35% chance is still pretty rough going.

Frenzied bloodlusted bone collectors breaking my tech building maybe. With Safe attacking, you really needed to get in some haste. A slightly more gold intensive option would be reversal to get out some damage, but still doesn’t get you to anything in the back.

The main thing seems to be figuring out either how to keep something alive in order to respond, or getting enough haste to slow the opponent down.

I’m not overly worried, go ahead and redo P2T1, and I’ll see what I can do. You had to know sensei was in T2, and safe attacking was 50/50 anyway.
