Rogue is no usual start with a black starter ! Yet it does deny any SLQ Rook thanks to Zane… Monk as scav + hero backline should provide a reasonable counter to this, but then, mid Zane would hurt… Maybe Elite Monk + Rook is the only decent playaround; I fail to see any other. Zane into Monk, then Rogue into Rook would leave me with a crippled, yet lvl 3 hero; Garth + token + StW would do the same, Rook staying lvl 1 but codexnewb paying 1 card and 1 gold more. Monk in Elite also prevent any zane + deteriorate kill.

OK, so I end up with far more gold, but my hero slot locked by a 0/2. I don't think Heroes' Hall would help much, so I can either save my gold (having no haste+GPT to fear), or build a tower. Again, with no haste and no way to steal my gold on next turn, I fail to see why I should hurry and build a tower this soon… Let's save money !

Wow, I had a good feeling not going for Fencers and birds ! Partner(s) shall help Rook recovering full strength, while codexnewb basically lost 3 gold for a not-that-usefull tower. I play Viper so I don't reshuffle now and can add another 2 things before. Yet I put it in Techn hoping he will prefer killing Sensei. Reshuffling after techn is slightly better than not playing the card anyway.

Obvious LB + BA coming, so teching double Discord should help.
For now, I must find a way to create some value out of my board position. Buffing Rook thrice, Rook kills GPT… OK but what if Nether Drain ? it offers 4 levels to Garth, and so a near-free maxband->BA. Not sure I want that. Yet I see no other way to get rid of this GPT. Or maybe I should skip worker and level up ? Honestly, I don't know if Nether Drain has ever been teched. GPT and probably BC or a second GPT, one BA for sure, but what else ? Obvious LB ? BCs ? maybe MoLaC… Against Rook, though, I'd definitely fetch at least one Nether Drain, but here, my Rook is so crippled it may not have been considered as a threat. At least, not enough to have been teched against on turn 3. Si Nether Drain only has 1/7 chances to be drawn this turn, if teched. That's a risk I can take, I guess. Maybe he teched Doom Grasp, but at least that's 4 gold (and wisp) for a fair hero kill, not one that doubles the gain… Note to self: Max Zane, kills viper with max, kills Partner, then Arg trades with Rook, leads to me losing it, but levels fizzling and him having a 4/1 Zane around that I can possibly RK… Or maybe I should just put Viper in Lookout ? Clearly, with only 7 gold, I'd be glad he spent 2 for Garth and 1 for deteriorate, or 2 for deteriorate with penalty… Zane is the top 1 threat here, so Lookout sound better. If so, Max Zane + 1g means he has no gold left; he can shove Viper to scav, but it means either he skips worker to protect Zane with jav (if he has it), or I'm 100%sure to RK, both sounding fine.
