Not loving this opening. My two options here are hmm, hero and Brick Thief (stick Brick Thief in Lookout, it won’t die to Spark or Wither). Although I guess that goes poorly against a Wither. 1/2 hero with armor dies to board and Wither. How about Tenderfoot + Flagbearer instead? 3 health, Jaina midband and a spell is needed to kill G and the Tenderfoot. 5 gold with Wither, 3 with Spark (and 1 gold left over), or 4 with Timely. Wither kill trades all gold and prevents worker, leaving a 3/2 Jaina on board and no Tenderfoot (and I go back to 5 cards with a Technician), and I can respond to that with Fruit Ninja plus hero.

Well, glad I didn’t pull Rambasa! I can Timely, have 5 gold left and can Troq up. Where does that leave me going forward? Do I have enough spells (including Lobber) to tech double Tech 2? Let’s say I do. What’s my endgame look like? Probably either rushing down to Tech 3 Discipline for Monument or Hotter Fire burndown (although Hotter Fire plus spells is easy to shut down with Mind Parry, and Molting Firebird is easy to deal with). Seems like I’m likely going Discipline, I can even leave it a bit open between Tech 3 and trying to get TPOS online. I think Final Smash is a good one-of tech here, along with a Vigor Adept, I’m happy with having those options available in the next couple of turns.

Hmm you know I really should’ve planned ahead here and just put Troq in Scav instead. Give me an extra gold to play Rambasa and tech to 2. As it is, defending Tech 2 isn’t enough of an “I win” for me to skip worker on.

I have a few lines here. I don’t think teching to 2 is actually the play here. I’m not going to be able to rush Tech 3 yet, and if I only have 3 gold to spend my options are kinda eh, especially with Lobber threat looming. I COULD maxband Troq, overpower 1 damage onto Spar, Timely trades with Spar and SQL Troq or something but that means skipping worker or skipping Tech 2 and having 2 damage on maxband Troq. Although it does also mean that Bomber has to choose between preventing Final Smash or preventing Tech 2. And Final Smash is one juicy way to come back from a Tech 2 play. If I don’t tech 2 I can instead Rambasa and protect Troq heavily. I think that might be the play then. Wait oops I can’t do math.

If I worker and tech 2 I can either Fruit Ninja or Bloom Grave. Bloom Grave trades with Troq + Jaina maxband, which saves my Tech 2. I also get to stay in the Tech 3 race. I can tech up with Fire Dart and a Tech 2 and have a pretty solid comp.
