Well, I went way down on cards. I think it was worth it, though.

for the future: the order is disc 1,draw 2 and look at the hand. This because in case you have 0 cards in hand you disc none and still draw 2.
Also you can’d discard a card you drew with MM, only 1 you already held.

Your card count seems off. No matter how I count it, something seems wrong. Did you put the flagbearer in the discard and reshuffle and draw for technician?

Yep, is off. he had 5 cards in disc, 0 in deck. Flag goes down, tech triggers shuffle then draw. 6 cards in deck-1 cuz tech draw, down to 5. Martial mastery, draws 2 more, down to 3. disc 1 draw 3 means deck is back to 0 cards.

AFAIR it goes

  1. Unit in technician dies
  2. Unit in technician goes to discard or whatever else triggers from the death
  3. Technician draw happens

@zhavier I know this is something I’ve botched in the past, is that how you have the rule also?

This is indeed the order of events. Tech unit goes to discard BEFORE the draw from technician.
