Double KO is a win for both players, unless it would cause both to win the set. In that case, play proceeds back to the top of the order, and continues until there is an unambiguous win.
Matches will be played weekly!
No EX characters (obviously)
Match Pick Rules
At the start of the tournament, each player will announce either publicly in the main thread, or privately to the TO, a set of 5 characters. The values for those 5 characters must add up to less than or equal to 18 . (The price list is listed below)
Within 24 hours of a match pairing being decided (based on the time of the match report), each player may decide to change their stable by sending a PM to the TO. New matches won’t be scheduled until after this 24 hour window. (This means if you play earlier than your future opponent, you’ll have more time to choose a new stable).
When the match scheduling thread is posted, the exact matchups to be played will be randomized and sent in the initial invite.
After the first round seeds are announced, you have 24 hours to change your stable.
Signups will be open until Saturday, Dec 26th at 11:59 PM UTC, with opening round conversations going out the next day (but the first match won’t be due until Jan 9, to allow for holidays). Confirm your signup, or feel free to ask any questions you may have here.
How it works is that the orders of both your five characters and your opponent’s five characters are randomized and the matchups are determined from that randomized order, so you play each character at most once per set.
I want in. My team will be:
Troq- $7
Rook- $9
Vendetta- $10
Midori- $12
Lum- $17
Kinda surprised that Midori is as cheap as he is, but that works for me.
Considering I play mostly low-tiers, I didn’t think I’d get to the max budget. I kinda wanted Grave, too, but I’d have to discard both Oni and Lum for it. If only one of my two bois (perse and menelker) were 1$ less…
Just for all participants: I made an error when giving my cost table to VP; should cost and should only cost . The OP has not been updated yet, sorry for the confusion! All submitted rosters are still legal, however.
I’m in, here’s the variable squad (team bus to be pictured later):
$6: Geiger
$5: Lum
(wat is this market)
$3: Menelker
$2: Quince
$1: Gloria
=
$17, in cold Flagstone cash!
I think the randomized MU idea is really cool. One thing is I wish is that people couldn’t change their teams, but maybe, @vengefulpickle, it’s just too feel-bad to deny that?
