GG WP! Whiffing the Blooming Ancients on Turn 5 (instead drawing all the token generation when it was least useful!) and then whiffing the 60% on Archons on turn 9 (and also whiffing Ancients there, two total disaster recycle draws!) proved too much to overcome.

I don’t think Hive is really a great move in this matchup, similarly the expense of Future Tech 2 means if you want to threaten Meta properly, you need Vir to be Vandy’s buddy and you need to cast Meta before you get any non-omegacron tech 2’s down. The Gilded Glaxx’s are great buddies for Meta though, provided you can cast it with gold to spare.

I never actually teched Meta until the very end. I had mind control in hand on the turn when you killed Quince after he was hanging out, maxed, for several turns, not doing much. It would have been good to snatch an ancient.

About hive - i love that card very much, but i have not yet found a situation where it works well. It’s so expensive and the hive is so vulnerable - to Prynn, to Grave, to Doom Grasp, to kidnapping. Anything that takes it out of the game means all the stingers have their arrival fatigue again. A single flyer with decent stats makes the hive not so threatening. My plan was to use unphase on the hive - which is an expensive way of keeping it alive, but I didn’t get it out on the right turn. So I’m not sure what the Hive is good for. So expensive, and resist 1 is not really enough to protect it.

Growth is still pretty nasty against him, at least Ancients + Birds + Nullcraft. Maybe I’ll tech lab for Doubling Barbs. Either way, just in case I’m not teching up next turn, I’ll throw a dinosize in here as well for mox to be a wrecker. Hero’s Hall for Arg + Rook works as a solid midgame

That’s a lot he spent on relieving my Stewardess. Threat isn’t too high from Glaxx + Vandy, he did a full reshuffle so possible he’ll draw Deteriorate, that means I probably want Rook patrolling to keep the tech 2 up. Bummer b/c he’ll probably die and then that means no Bird’s Nest that I’m drawing into. Tinkerer is the only really high percentage play to keep it alive (he could just max Vandy and Doom Glaxx if he gets Deteriorate, that means tech 2 down.) So I’ll grab Giant Panda and the other Ancient, hopefully have the second Ancient spaced, and lay Nullcraft here for some poke
