I’m not going to lie, this was mostly just a match where we were both desperately trying to see who could shake off the rust from not playing for months first, and apparently I managed to do slightly better than Carpe at that, haha! I’m fairly satisfied with how I played in the third game, but the first two were mainly just winning by being the one who made the next to the last mistake rather than by actually forcing a win.
SirHandsome VS petE
3-2, nice games
@Castanietzsche 3 - 2 @Hobusu
my opponent played low on pile so tax was excellent. we played a lot on wounds but quince is better at this game
We played a bit less on wounds on this one
hobusu changed his strategy, added risky move to the bank and played very high so tax was ineffective
I played double risky move at high 1-gem pile
I added mix master back into the bank, I played a lot around keeping patriot mirror in game. we went quite high on economy but hopefully there wasn’t any good good bank chip to buy
so whats going on with this tournament? Said i had until 24th to play my first match, we on round 2 now? I havent gotten a followup message, and i dont think that mock bracket above is accurate anymore?
I’ll start the round 2 stuff in a few hours
Round 2:
-Winners:
-@hobusu v @Castanietzsche
-@zak v @SirHandsome
—Losers:
—NopetheBard v @CarpeGuitarrem
— @DDDDD v @petE
@zeromh and @qauz haven’t reported match results, so they’ll just be the byes this round. They’ll both be eliminated if they do not report results by next Sunday
.
I’ve already played my r2 match with hobusu
I know. I’m still listing it for the sake of completeness
ok yeah thats why i was wondering if i was overlooked since i saw someon else already played twice. Should I wait for a message organizing it or just get it done with @zak ? Feel free to add me on Steam (friend code 49041119) or the Sirlingames discord Zak (SirHandsome on there), Puzzle Strike is short enough that I can be pretty flexible with when we play
Go ahead .
I have belated round 1 results!
zeromh 3 - 2 qauz
Here’s my “take it with a grain of salt” analysis because I feel pretty rusty at this game right now:
There were no upgrade chips in the bank during the Midori v. Troq matches. As a result Midori was a bit dependent on whether I could buy a crash prior to drawing Dragon Form. In the first match I couldn’t; in the second match I could.
qauz then switched to Argagarg, which was a great counter given the characters and the bank. After losing, the bank had too much I didn’t like about it, so I switched to Grave. These were longer games and I think Grave’s deck control made a difference. Also some bad luck in drawing crashes on Arg’s part.
SirHandsome VS zak (Round 2)
3-1, thanks for the match
Nice !
So, what’s going on for the 3rd round ?
If FFA can solve bracket problems I’m up
DDDDD 3-1 petE

I’m going to concede my match against Carpeguitarrem. I just haven’t felt up for this. I’ll keep running the tourney of course, though you’ll probably need to wait a few days for the next round to start.

Bye to @Castanietzsche
