My thoughts

Not the best hand for dealing with T1 Vandy+Haunt+Javelineer. Imp will at least slow down his cycling more and absorb some damage. Next turn is probably Garth + Skele + Deteriorate + Tech I, and either float a gold or discard 2 and play javelineer.

My first time ever playing Jandra with this deck, but I think she’s my best chance at not getting completely blown out here. Still not sure what I should have done to deal with his T1 with my opening hand.

I had no idea how to answer you with my T1 draw, and I was pretty much behind from that point on. Any advice (from you or spectators) on what I should have done against T1 Vandy + Javelineer + Haunt with this?

Sac the Weak and Archery seemed obviously bad. Haunt can’t defend and Rogue would trade poorly. Garth + Skele or Arg + Wisp would have been free levels to Vandy if you midbanded her or had Deteriorate. That left either Imp or Tower. I went with Imp to punish you for going down a card, but he couldn’t actually kill anything. Curious if Tower and just eating the base damage to take out your chumps would have been better.

Seems like just tower may have been better despite how bad it feels as a turn 1 play. I ended up getting great value off the 1/1s. I probably just don’t attack with them in response and develop my board further, saving the little guys for trades in the upcoming turns so it probably shakes out similarly. That was a rough opening hand for sure.

This seems like a decent setup.

In that position, I think I would probably have played Haunt, workered, and floated 4 gold. This would have given you options on turn 2 like max Arg, play a blocker and build T1, which would leave you with a much stronger patrol zone, and make it harder for Andy to get free levels. Your patrol zone turn 2 is full (with a 3/3+A in squad leader), so attacking into that looks unappetising even for Andy + friends, and you’ll get tech scavenger bonuses if they do. If they don’t clear your patrol zone, they risk a T3 Stampede (though you’d need guts to double tech that on T2).

One of the “advantages” of P2 is that you can give your opponent a free pass on turn 1 at the cost of 3 or 4 base damage. That’s not completely costless, but it can be a price worth paying if you can use your T2 to maneuver into a stronger board position.

It’s partly also your deck building. Necro P2 normally gives you the threat of summon-max Garth to res something scary from discard on T2 (e.g. baron in mono-black), but your specs don’t have anything big at T1, which makes Garth less scary (though I appreciate that you have Rhino at T2…)
