My thoughts

Gotta kill off Zane because 2 gold to reach 4 attack + the maxband push is quite strong. At that point, I don’t like the chances of 1 HP Garth surviving to maxband out a Crashbarrow, so I’ll go for the early maxband to bring out a Tech I. That’s something I’ve seen Marto do a lot with his version of this, and I’d like to give it a try.

I feel good about my position here. If I can get just one of my big 3 attackers through the patrol zone, combined with Haunt they’ll be able to break his Tech I. If I get lucky he bottom-decked his first techs and it will put him in a really tough spot.

My thoughts

Went back and forth between Graveyard and the second Bone Collector. Decided it was better to keep the pressure on this turn, and I wasn’t too comfortable attacking if my only patrol was going to be a skeleton.

I think the big swing in this game was you playing Bloodburn on T2. Leaving your patrol open allowed me to level Garth to kill Zane cleanly and then get the maxband off. That netted out as a big swing in board presence, and I could just keep the pressure up the rest of the way.

I have to admit that this was only my second game of any red spec. And in my first game it was two inexperienced players.

I thought that I should get some fire in place to deny any Crashbarrows (which I remembered from last game). But, well, it’s the way to learn. :slight_smile:

It’s quite hard to deny Crashbarrows actually, especially with Garth who can cheat them in early.

I find the best way to counter Crashbarrows is actually just do endure them. They can do a lot of damage, but they leave zero board presence behind afterwards, so if my opponent can recover to a decent board after they sweep through then I am usually in trouble. Usually the tipping point is whether I can take out a tech building on the turn the Crashbarrows attack. If I can wipe their board and Tech II, then it’s really hard for them to get a decent board presence. If not, they just drop an Immortal or something and I have limited options to deal with it until after the Crashbarrows cycle back around in my deck.

The trick to enduring the Crashbarrow is often just to fill the patrol zone, with either big bodies or lots of chumps. Crashbarrows have overpower, but with enough bodies/HP in the patrol zone you can block enough damage to keep me from getting 5 through to the backline.
