MoLaC or Ancients followed by Zane -> Sharks is just a killer, so at least I know what I need to do – be sufficiently ahead by T5 to take out his Tech2.

Tricky place to be a Hero, what with Cal’s stealth, Zane’s haste and green buffs. He maybe builds a Tower to put a stop to the stealth threat, in which case I’ll maybe tech Ferocity next turn as a way to break through.
I’m going to try some sort of land denial strategy. I don’t think I’m going to bring out a hero against Cala till I have enough for maxband Arg? Hate enabling him to do the backstab play, but it should get worse in value as the game goes on.

Getting a decent board in place, and Prospector could end up being a long-term fixture. Difficulty will be building lead enough to meet his strong midgame options eg Growth Tech2 and/or rush to Anarchy Tech3 while Injuncting my Tech2. Teching Ferocity to help break through defence and Centaur for solid attacker with overpower to clear wisps.

He’s skipped a worker, but I still get to kill both his Taxmen and keep Prospector going, good position for me. Building Tech2 Anarchy, and teching Surprise Attack and Disguised Monkey for hasty pressure.
Yeah, going through it again, the money numbers weren’t off at all. Just after reading FFA then switching to a 1v1 thread, then seeing Taxmen, then realizing the Taxman was the one dying… I had a moment of utter confusion. (:
