The votes are in, and PPP was tied for top place (with LLL, which we’ve run recently). So, without further ado:
Persephone’s Pick Your Poison: Arsenic (PPPa)
Rules
Double elimination
Best of 7
Medium timer
Double KO is a win for both players, unless it would cause both to win the set.
Matches will be played weekly!
No EX characters (obviously)
Match Pick Rules
First four matches are picked from the Uneven MUs list, in alternating fashion.
Next three matches are picked from the Even MUs list.
When picking a matchup, one player will pick the MU, and the other player picks the side they want to play.
The higher seed player picks the first MU
Each MU may only be picked once in a set.
(If these rules are wrong based on the previous way this tournament was run, I’d love to hear about it).
Signups will be open until Saturday, Mar 30th at 11:59 PM UTC, with opening round conversations going out the next day. Confirm your signup, or feel free to ask any questions you may have here.

Even MUs
These are the two least-played matchups for each character, limited to only those that are at worst 4.5-5.5.
No, no typo. I picked the two least-played MUs that each character is involved in (that met the balance criterion), and then re-sorted by the “first character”. So, for instance, has lots of CPs listed, because playing against him is one of the two least-played MUs for a bunch of characters.
Looking at the matchups again, I find it interesting that two acknowledged low-tier characters (BBB and Jaina) both feature heavily in the lists, but the beezlebot has lots of low-played even matchups, and Jaina has lots of low-played uneven matchups.
Looking at the data again, they do seem like they are in decidedly different classes as far as bad matchups go.
Almost out of time to sign up! If we stay with this number of entrants, then we’ll do a diminishing-swiss format (that is, top seeds are paired up, and you’re eliminated from the tournament after 3 losses).
