My Thoughts

Grabbing injunction with an expectation Taxman was teched. Pairing it with a taxman of my own to hopefully lay down some cheap blocking. Newsman on 2 prevents Charge, Chaos Mirror, Bloodlust, and Fire Dart, the latter 2 of which are of most interest b/c they protect Aven.

Woof, pretty rough draw, guess we’ll see where it takes us!

With FrozenStorm going Truth, I’m certainly glad I teched Bloodlust. I’ll go ahead and grab an Ember Sparks too, for good measure. And a War Drums, because why not? A bit of optimism has never killed anyone… right?
There’s a good chance I’ll go for Zane shenanigans next turn, so I may not be able to afford teching up. As in, ever. In which case, I might need a copy of Desperation later on.

Frozen patrolled in a way that pretty much forces me to trade Zane. So why not get a card out of it?

Rambaster, as good a draw as I could’ve hoped for. But do I go all in for base damage, or do I break tech 2? Oh who am I kidding, I’m playing aggro Red! Almost any card in my deck can sneak in that last bit of base damage.

Good bet by Frozen with the Newsman, prolongs this game for another turn. Let’s see if he draws an Injunction to prolong it even more.
My deck is obviously bloated, but I’m trying to strike some balance between spells, tech 1’s and tech 2’s.

I can Injunction and deal 14 to your base, but I can’t prevent you suiciding your own Zane into that Crash Bomber for the last tick on my base.

GG WP! I should have patrolled Newsie in Elite on turn 2, or gone with Quince instead. Bottom-decking my turn 3 draw certainly didn’t help, though :wink:

This is going to be a tough battle, but let’s run the same thing back with another Red P1 and see if I can improve results!

It’s legal to attack your own units, with my base on 1hp he can summon Zane and attack his own crash bomber, dealing 1 to my base upon its death

I have done it before in games, but I am not 100% positive. A quick check of the rules thread seems to suggest you cannot, though.

@zhavier weighing in early on with no objection
@mysticjuicer and @Legion weighing in last fall with no objection

Even so, I think I was pretty well cooked.

It would be worth having definitive weigh-in whether attacking your own units is allowed or not from the rulebook or @sharpobject / @Leontes / @Sirlin / other staff, though!

Yeah, someone on the rules thread quoted this from the rulebook, which seems pretty unambiguous: “To attack, exhaust your attacker (turn it sideways) and say what it attacks. Your attacker can attack anything of your opponent’s that has hit points: any unit, hero, or building.”

That passage on attacking actually seems confusing about SQL and patrollers, though. It says if a unit CAN attack SQL, it MUST. But that isn’t true of flying/stealth units attacking a ground/non-detector-backed unit, yea? Same with an anti-air ground unit passing under a flying SQL?

Bloodburn from him feels like kind of a gift. Probably won’t be focusing illusions but my other units should now be pretty effective. Flooding the board for some big pressure. I’d really like to find a way to play jail this game, but not sure how it fits in…
