He skipped Tech1 build, so can’t put anything too scary down next turn, nor play a Tax Inspector to steal my float. Since Green has decent Tech0s to block, let’s try teching Ancient+MoLaC rather than Tech1s, see if I can get one of them down T4 after a T3 Tech2 build, and before Bigby starts handing out Injunctions.
…
Well my techs split across the T3/T4 hands, so T4 Ancient play could be on.

Big float + stash – maybe Injunction stashed to play along with Tech2 build. In which case my front-loading of Tech2s will have been a waste of time, and prevented me getting down some good Tech1s. We’ll see, maybe just a Tech1 unit stashed, as Injunction seems pretty expensive to play this early as T1.

Think this will be over quickly. Even if I can play MoLaC next turn (avoid Injunction or Newsman naming 3), I’ll be overrun and not be able to land any attacks.

Thoughts
I am definintely going to lose my second BA if I break his tech 2. and if he has rampant growth, i lose both BAs, probably. without rampant growth, I lose my big scribe and maybe something else, or he just tanks with the other stuff. Even with rampant growth, that would mean only 1 thing actually survives killing the BA’s. I definitely get down flagstone next turn and flood the board with the benefit of a surviving BA. I should even be able to injunction if necessary.

Last chance saloon – but expect Newsman is coming in to name 3 and spoil the MoLaC party.
Sigh, moment’s peace, at least I can make sure he doesnt do it twice I can’t stop him from flying over, assuming he can target aven after targeting the flagbearer, which is actually not likely…
GG, WP !
I’ve another MP in hand, but no prospects once the thumbs stop twiddling. Aven ties things up nicely against Midori flying.
Spectacularly effective use of Community Service. I’d teched MoLaC+Ancient T2, as an early Tech2 build looked on the cards again. Could have whiffed, as you say, but a real game winner here, and not something I’d have considered you’d play so early, credit to you!
Newsman was blocking a second moment’s peace, so yea, you could ahve killed 3 of my patrollers, at most, and then been hit with everything hiding in the back.
Blues ability to win seems very much tied to betting on the odds, or using information to improve the odds. A P2 tech 2 play seems pretty reasonable, but if, for example, you had teched two molacs instead, I would not have found anything. I was actually thinking a centaur was my best bet, imagine my surprise!
Yes, so far seems quite an even matchup overall, but more demanding on the Blue side to be ingenious. That’s a good characterization, using information to improve the odds. From the Green side, MoLaC-or-bust is a pretty straightforward plan to go for, though I could do with thinking of some alternatives and/or ways to make this less predictable.
I’ll be away a fair bit in the next couple weeks, so would be a good time to take a break, and look forward to continuing the series in the new year.
