Nullcraft could kill Inspector, but then HolyTispon wouldn’t be able to afford Battlesuits, which means I could block it with Newsman.
There’s a part of me that wants to say - I’m not that much of a masochist. Then there’s a part of me that wants to say - I do want to continue for a while longer because I don’t feel like I’ve really played some of these games for various reasons. We’ll just have to live and see what happens.

Battlesuits is up, so there’s no rush to play Newsman. I’d like to play Aven to help against Argo’s, should they drop, but there’s a risk of popping by Stewardess.
Hmm, maybe with a Jail behind it? It’s kind of asking to be Assimilated, but if I can get Newsman back in my hand before it’s cast, I could block $3 to protect it.
I’m teching stuff I can be sure to play while teching up next turn.

This is a nice knot he’s tied me into. If I play the stewardess first, I can get the NC out but it can’t kill the inspector because the Aven is in the way. If I play the NC first, the stewardess can be out but only can bounce the inspecotr because I won’t have money for the resist. BUT I’d rather kill the inspector than bounce him. I can’t leave him with the inspector on the board beacuse that’s just mutliple Avens flying all over. Either I go with the first option and leave the NC in Elite to patrol, in which case Arrest+Manufactured Truth will hurt or I can bounce the Inspector, in which case he gets another card and the Aven is still in play. What’s better? Leaving him with the Aven and Inspector while I patrol, or leaving him without the Inspector while I don’t have a patrolling flyer? I’m gonna go with option no. 1. He knows that my Stewardess can come next turn and hoepfully that will push towards trading the Aven. If he does go for MT - one of the Avens will trade, the other will bounce (probably he’ll keep the inspector) and my tech 1 will suffer 2 damage.

I’ll trade Aven before he gets popped. That means Newsman could get bounced, which I’m perfectly fine with, since HolyTispon can’t afford a jailbreak + resist 1 + Vir + Assimilate without skipping a worker. Besides, I can play him again next turn if I feel the need to, which is, if I can’t dig for Free Speech.
There’s a small chance of hasted Geiger hitting past my Cadet, so I’ll leave Inspector on scav to avoid sparkshot. I can pretty much translate extra gold into cards next turn, anyway.
I’m not totally sure what to tech alongside Free Speech. After last game, I’m hoping HolyTispon is a bit paranoid about Spies, so I’ll bluff that and actually get the more versatile Air Hammer (man, these mind games are getting convoluted…)

It occurs to me (a turn too late, of course) that my board and deck are set up in a way that could protect a Garrison from Assimilate. Unfortunately, I’m not really set up to take advantage of a Garrison, though that can change over a turn or two. And anyway, I don’t see a much better way to deal with Omegacrons hitting the board soon.

Got the Garrison with my first card-dig. HolyTispon has answers in his hand, but he’s in a bind: he can’t Assimilate before bouncing Newsman, but he needs to get rid of Jail to play Stewardess and still afford Assimilate. Maxband Prynn or Geiger are also too expensive.
Bottom line is, I can play the Garrison relatively safely and see what else I dig.
Nice. Kind of saw it coming with the newsman at 3 and such. Didn’t work out to deal with it. Let’s see what you have this turn.

GG WP. I definitely have a newfound respect for Newsman+Jail(+Garrison) synergy. Hard to get rid of Newsman with Jail slowing down Stewardesses, and board development in general. I wonder if @Shadow_Night_Black has ideas on how to get around that.
I think Seers, for example, are a pretty good response - they let me cycle through units very quickly, and with just one of them a turn of Max Prynn can be brutal and effective. But I haven’t been playing them as much and I’ve been pretty much on the wrong end of the spectrum on each one of our games. I think some of it is RPS/mind games kind of thing, and luck of the draw - you’ve been one step ahead of me for sure. I do think purple has some weaknesses against blue but I actually think it’s less of an issue as P1, even though I’ve been losing.
