My Thoughts

I’d really love a kill on Jaina here, so I’m teching the other Macciatus and Scribe. That gives me 45% to either draw Macciatus or some card draw, which would be excellent.

Bummer, Hound, not what I wanted… I think I’ll put it and Newsie behind, and patrol Quince + Bigby. That gives me a lot to hit back with, and while he could easily bring 13-16+ damage next turn, that likely keeps my tech 2 and illusions safe for Macciatus to buff them and bring some pain next turn.

Nice, got a Macciatus for next turn. I can pair that up with Oni or Tech 3 threat and probably do pretty well for myself.

I was wrong, Frozen went straight ahead and pulled off the same patrolling trick…
There’s a lot that I can do on this turn, but only two options actually make sense to me.
The conservative plan: kill Bigby and Hound with Sparks and Glider, patrol with GPT and midband Jaina. It keeps me relatively safe, but there’s nothing to stop Frozen from rushing to tech 3, and he’s probably teched the Gryphons by now.
The radical plan: Bring in maxband Zane and clear the patrol zone. I’ll be fielding more of a threat, but Frozen will have a free shot on (at least one of) my heroes, plus patrol goodies.
Whichever I choose, I’ll probably regret it a minute later. But most of all, I’m sorry I didn’t tech a 2nd Crashbarrow instead of that silly Glider :confused:

My Thoughts

So I know for sure his techs thus far have been Lobber, Taxman, Sparks and Glider. I suspect he has Bloodlust in the deck, and probably a crashbarrow. If I don’t kill Jaina, she will for sure ice either Aven or Macciatus. But if I don’t break the tech 2, I’m likely asking for Lusty Drakk + X + Barrow. Better to keep him lower on cards and buy myself some space from Drakk and Barrows

Next turn I should probably draw some cycling or Reteller / another Macciatus, and I’ll probably tech 3. So I’m teching in more cycling (Boot Camp) and another Reteller (keep my hand size up)

My Thoughts

I’m hoping there isn’t another Ember Sparks in that deck, cuz I’m leaving Jaina up. I’ll play TD just in case, play myself mostly empty (LS / Scribe + the other + Or Reteller depending on what I learn, if I get both card draws in the first 3), and tech up.

Well, got LS, 50/50 I get the scribe also. If not, I suppose drawing into it wouldn’t be the worst thing for the RS. And if I keep my Mirror, I get a free Reteller to attack with XD


I don’t see myself escaping that tech lockdown, or winning a base race, so GG! I suppose I should’ve either totally committed to a base race, or played more defensively and capitalized on my card advantage. And I should’ve waited for the 3rd cycle with teching Shoddy Glider…

This opening hand leaves me no choice but to go straight for base damage! Hopefully I can do a better job of it than last game…

GG WP! You must have no blockers or Ember Sparks in hand. I think Hero’s Hall would have been a better bet than Tower, as then you’ll for sure be able to bring a friend for Jaina, could possibly transition to Burning Volley then.

Agree that Barrow > Glider, and I wasn’t sure if you’d have Jaina max kill Macciatus or Aven. Aven might have been preferable, debatable though.

I could Charge the Dog to kill Oni, but I’d rather have Bombaster for next turn, plus sneak in some more base damage. I know Frozen’s Arrest is in discard, so if he wants to get at Zane he’ll need either a Boot Camp or a very convoluted MTruth play. But I’m actually counting on suiciding Zane next turn, to make room for Drakk and Bloodlust: maybe on Crash Bomber and Brogre, maybe on an unlucky illusion.

My Thoughts

I highly suspect he wants to go Blood tech 2 and was 1g short, so I’m going to play a little mind games. By maxbanding Oni, I’ll make it look like I’ve gone AoW, but I’ll patrol him in technician to make it look like I expect him to die. He only has three cards, so it will be tough to actually get to Oni, and even if he does, he’d likely have to commit a lot AND not have anything left to crib a card off me with Zane.

Still, I have good card draw, should I tech a Free Speech just to be safe? I think so. Just maxband Oni alone will make good waves if left unchecked. From here, I can tech up and cycle a little, or use like Jail + Newsie to block stuff off. His base race is running out of steam.

Hmm, interesting RS. Arrest will be nice for killing a tech building if it comes to that :slight_smile: And I’ll probably race t3 truth as a backup win condition.

Desperation is a no brainer, but let’s see what we get.

Not bad, I can actually afford all 3 of those! I think I have to kill Oni, to make sure Frozen doesn’t start chaining AoWs. That leaves me with a couple of different options, which basically amount to: (1) midband Drakk + midband (hurt) Zane + Lobber; or (2) Drakk + maxband Zane + Bombaster + 2 float.
I’ll take the latter, to ensure Zane doesn’t die, and increase my odds of teching up next turn.

Huh, well that was quite the damaging thing. Still, he is very low on cards now. Probably will go Surplus + tech 2 + Worker and clear me out. Still, jail should help me stem the bleeding. Next turn I’ll tech up and Free Speech his ass, and hopefully from there I’ll be able to beat him to tech 3? Teching an Injunction to help in that pursuit… this is rough though
