So, this in an awkward (but not catastrophic) hand to draw. 3 of my 4 lubricants, including the 2 stronger ones. I can’t risk leaving 7 cards in my deck with only Boot Camp to manipulate draws, so I’ll have to burn through some of them. I kind of regret workering Snapback. Not only could it have dealt with Prynn while allowing Onimaru to attack something else (Tech III building, for example), but it’s also a 3 cost card that could have been used to fuel True Power of Storms. I’m lucky I don’t have to worry about Slow Time Generator, but that Reaver could be a problem.

Okay, I have 2 options here: General’s Hammer or Reversal, either of which could get me a base kill, but I have to tech and dig for them. Gerenal’s Hammer is a sure kill on any turn, but requires an extra $2 to resummon Onimaru. Versatile style works with my current heroes, but if I can’t cast it this turn, it’s probably useless. I think General’s Hammer is the safer bet, especially since I need Onimaru to cast Boot Camp.
Yeah, I didn’t play optimally, as is typical for my first run with a new build. But, the advantage of being harder to predict was well worth it, considering Shadow got locked out of Slow-Time Generator by the weird ruling for this map. I’m not confident it would work a second time, or on a different map.
Yeah, Taking the really slow present future approach was not a good idea, should have just grabbed rewind/reaver earlier or for this strat past was defo the better option. Fast Present (Hyperions/Trics) would have worked as normal
This build was actually designed specifically to counter the Hyperion/Tric combo, but I guess it’s a case of whoever gets a Tech II unit in play first wins, which of course is likely to be player 2 with the bonus worker.
I mean, the heros you chose all have very powerful stats/combat abilities, but they max out at lvl 7/8 making them quite slow. I should have forced trades earlier with Immortals when the MPM came out, and when looking at your specs realise the possible lock down you had. But you played well, so you deserved that win
