I could bring Oni out right now, as he’d be pretty safe and put good counter-pressure. I think I will do that. As for “what else”? Nullcraft is really effective at neutralizing StW and picking off dumb stuff for Black, so let’s go with that as well. Next turn I am drawing FF, which gives me potential to strike Vandy down, as well as Mid Oni or Fargo or Mox (also great against black starter). I may regret bringing Oni , but I think I can generate good value with him.

Juggermox was a bad choice… And what’s more, couldn’t get the double off OR Battle Suits. I’m really in bad shape. He might go straight face with this empty patrol, but I’m going to build the tech 1 in the hopes that he goes after that instead. Grabbing a Lich’s Bargain to slow him down, and Brave Knight in case he leaves the tech 1 up to help me get some card advantage.

Hurray, he breaks the tech 1! I have my choice of killing stuff off here with Battle Suits, could do Vandy, or Fencer + Starlet, or Graveyard + Starlet. I’m teching in Hoodie and Nether Drain, I’m not planning on shuffling (suits + LB + recover worker) and I’m probably not teching up so those seem the safest “filler” techs for next cycle (OC, Hammer, Elite Training would all be okay options also but Hoodie and Nether Drain seem safest). I’m going to leave Vandy alone and take out Graveyard and Starlet, if he wants to keep DPing that’s fine, he’s getting low, and Horror deals with Vandy better than he deals with a pumped starlet.

Also gonna build a HH so I can bring Oni back out no matter what (even though he might bust in to kill Garth, depends on how his draw went)

Next turn Oni + BK + Boot Camp almost certainly, then it will depend what to do with the last 2 gold. Maybe Skeleton + worker? Maybe if I draw Nether Drain or the other Boot Camp we do that? Maaayyybe Fargo and no worker? Or maybe I won’t use BK, I guess we’ll see

Well looks like I made a good choice, he was banking on teching up and not pressing hard with vandy. If only he’d used the fencer to block and just tapped my base with Starlet, I wasn’t going to tech up anyway. At the very least I think he should have gone tech 2 demonz, b/c at this point his best hope is drawing Deteriorate to eliminate my horror, then fetching a Dozer to keep me away.

From here I think I should be able to coast into base destruction. Nothing he gets to hit the board is going to prevent big damage next turn, especially when I can boot camp stuff out the way

Read my thoughts for turn-by-turn analysis, but highlights are:

  1. Taking out my tech 1 was unnecessary, I was playing early for juggermox so I wasn’t in a rush to go tech 2. Had you patrolled the Fencer, I would have been unable to kill it or the graveyard, which would have set you up much better for Finesse Machine
  2. Having let me kill the graveyard, I would have changed tactics and gone tech 2 demonz, and maxed out Vandy for Fencer to trade with Horror. From there, you can use Garth to bring up a Dozer, play a voidblocker from hand, and play for Zarra.

Those are the only two things I really see wrong, you were otherwise playing well (the StW on Nullcraft turn 2 was unexpectedly brilliant, keeping Nullcraft away leaves a reshuffled StW as an extremely potent option: I didn’t even realize how much I was counting on Nullcraft to cover my Fargo from StW until you did that)

I definitely got lucky getting LB on the reshuffle, had I drawn BK instead I would have been in big trouble. Hindsight, I probably should have teched 2x LB to make better sure that I got it, I was going to want to use it almost no matter what
