LLL 2: EricF ([Blood]/Strength/Growth) vs. Zejety ([Necro]/Blood/Fire)

P2T7

[details=Turn secrets]* Hand: Thieving Imp, Deteriorate, Lobber, Hooded Executioner, Graveyard

  • garth-drawn card: Nether Drain
  • Worker: Thieving Imp
  • Tech: Doom Grasp, Shoddy Glider
  • Thoughts: Lucky Nether Drain! Letting Arg live without something on the board for him to buff leaves me relatively safe unless I am missing something. He can kill my Drakk if he draw a Dinosize or something comparable, but my buildings are safe!
I’ve missed another opportunity to play a Graveyard but I’m not sure it would have been worth the risk to keep a bird alive (playing Lobber andCrash Bombing a Bird instead of a Wisp) Worst case, that Bird suddenly deals 10 damage or more.

It’s even harsher. I drew it with the Skeleton-sacrifice.

[details=Turn secrets]* Hand: Bone Collector, Ogre Recruiter, Crashbarrow

  • Worker: -
  • Tech: Nether Drain, War Drums
  • Thoughts: 9 HP is scary. I think playing it safe is the right call. Hoping for Dragon draws is kind of too hopeful anyway. Not playing Ogre because he is the scarier thing to get Kidnapped.

gg! not landing a Birds Nest on Turn 3 or 4 completely wrecked my gameplan - well played!

It was really tough considering I had two tech levels on you!
Was spending one gold on a Tech I really not worth it for you though? Maybe even just as a scare tactic?

And yes, I was concerned about Bird’s Nests from the very start. Actually workered StW over Skeleton Archery just to have some anti-air. Ended up playing neither (and no Graveyard!) because I had to respect Kidnapping, and to a lesser degree Bloodlust, all the time.

I was considering it as a bluff, but I did end up using that gold eventually…

This spec combo really doesn’t have good Tech 1 options.

That was certainly my experience playing with it
