This is legitimately the worst starting hand I’ve had all tournament. I’m not totally sure how I rescue this, but I guess we’ll see where the road takes us. I can’t bring a hero safely without a solid body to go in front though, so… I’m reticent to worker Forgotten Fighter when he made such great use of Boulder but what else am I going to worker in this hand? I guess I have not had a decent use of TR yet with this deck, but maybe we can find a use for it yet. Maybe with this Plasmo. And maybe I’ll do Lich’s Bargain x2? It’d be good lulz

Okay, this might actually work to do a tech 2 rush with Lich’s Bargain built into the plan. Birds are still an issue but hopefully an elite training can help that out.

Thoughts
He could time spiral for wham plasmodium. He could Lich’s Bargain. I could pillage that large pile of gold, 2 base damage, -2 gold for him and workering a card i’d rather not worker. Or I skip worker and make him delay tech 2 along with me. Im not really sure how to read his last play with not putting more down. Presumably he wants to make some big play and get his tech 2 down, ensure it survives. Plasmo makes for a pretty big wall as well as a decent threat.

Big questions on what to kill with a swing back, I think the right call is the cards. No doubt he’s going to try to walk past + quake me ftw, so really need to make sure he can’t walk past. Unfortunately I didn’t get my 3hp blockers, so we’ll have to just deal with Elite Training Plexus behind Oni and hope it’s enough.

Okay I need to just stay hard-up patrolled and… win somehow? I am a little ahead on cards on the board. I’m thinking my best bet to win is future, with some big bodies in the way. Hive feels like a decent bet to stop a bird from squeaking by, and Xenostalker to stop shark attacks. Nether Drain for Earthquake. Fingers crossed I draw the “right” one for whatever he’s up to!

I played this out after getting a lucky draw of surprise attack on the technician, then realized Zane by himself would have been enough, max and move the voidstar, birds kill Executioner, Zane kills Garth, rook gets base.
And it was the LB throwing me off sorry.

I haven’t done a base rush before with this codex, that was intense.
I think t2 is where you went wrong, you could have used Mox to slow me down, but also wow this codex brings the pain.
GG WP, I agree though I think plexus in scav would have been a good move to try a tech 2 rush with lichs bargain. Tough with no ground units in t1 hand though. A well deserved win for you @zhavier!
