Thoughts

My working assumption is that Frozenstorm will go for Peace engine, but I need to watch out for JuggerMox and Lich’s Bargain as well. I also shouldn’t over-rely on heroes as I’ve done in past games, with Nether Drain and Doom Grasp available.
It’s a bit of a bummer not getting a 1-drop in my opening hand, as it means Oni might be the 1st hero on the board. But Brogre backed with Mad Man in my next hand can deal with a number of different situations.
Long-term, BtF could be good for sneaking kills on Garrisons and such, and isn’t too vulnerable to Assimilate. Immortal could stand up to buffed Mox, and the Blood plan could punish Lich’s Bargain. I guess we’ll wait and see.

Thoughts

Brogre + Madman for Fargo is a trade down in gold, but I still think it’s better than letting Brogre bounce.
With that settled, I’m debating between Cal and Bombaster in elite. Cal is obviously a bigger threat, and FrozenStorm would have to delay tech 1 to get free levels off her, but that doesn’t sound like such a bad plan for him. I know I don’t want to face maxband Oni so soon, so I’ll go down a card and hope that Argo’s make up for it.

After the draw: not a good reshuffle… Let’s hope FrozenStorm floats so that I can at least get a nice Pillage play?

I’m in trouble here. Since I don’t have Argo’s to drop, FrozenStorm can use his next turn to both beat me to tech 2 AND take over the board, probably with Cadet or BC. So rather than just turtle up with something like Cal+tower, I’ll drop Drakk and threaten Frenzy shenanigans next turn. It’s a bit of a bluff, I guess, since I’d rather drop an Argo and tech up. But I could see myself going for it if the threat isn’t respected.

Thoughts

This is the first time I’ve really felt Brogre’s drawback. Kudos to FrozenStorm for that.
The way things stand, I can either tech up and let him walk all over my board next turn (while also setting up the Peace engine), or I can delay tech 2 and Drakk out. The latter is probably not be the most prudent play, but right now it feels like this game is slipping away from me, and I need to be proactive.
I don’t really mind going down another card, since I know I have an ok play next turn in hasted Argo. And down the road, I’m hoping Present tech 2 can help me get back in business cardwise.
In fact, I’m going to gamble on a card I’ve never played, or even seen played: Warp Gate Disciple. It’s a longshot, which is why it would be so awesome to get a hasted one in play :stuck_out_tongue:

My Thoughts

Well, I honestly think rezzing DS would be about as good as getting Garrison, but having drawn the Garrison on the reshuffle (1/7, lucky draw), I kinda need to play it. Teching Nether Drain and KotC, hoping that I get a decent reshuffle (if I don’t get OCs now, I’ll get them next turn and either way should be able to dig it up with time to make it effective at fetching DS

Well, Getting both OCs now is pretty darn fortunate as well. I’d probably be safe bringing out Garth behind everything here, but on the off chance he has kidnapping in that 3-card hand, I’d rather play extra safe and just put Vir in front. An unkidnapp-able SQL that he can’t get free levels off of and maxing out my patrol zone means my garrison stays 100% safe and hopefully, I draw Nether Drain on the RS to make for a big DS summon

Wow Nether Drain, Battle Suits AND KotC, couldn’t really be a better draw (perhaps nullcraft would have been better than KotC?). I feel a win coming

My Thoughts

Well darn, Nullcraft was better, still though I have decent plays to make. Grabbing both DS, 50/50 I get nullcraft first (in which case I can raise one from Discard), otherwise I’ll just hope to draw one on the rs. Have to kill OCs first, of course.

Got nullcraft second, darn, but at least the draw train worked out to where I get a DS on the board (along with other stuff). Hindsight after I’d done my draw train, I could have boosted HE to get the kill and ended up using KotC to get DS a rune (plus totally cleared his board), but idk that it would have been a ton better. This way, Garth can still rez something next turn, and he’d have to have like Tricycloid + TD or something in hand to really threaten backline Garth here. More likely Hyperion or kidnapping or bloodlust + immortal or something (bloodlust + WGD could be fun if you could get Geiger to flicker it and save the damage ^_^, or WGD + Drakk max I spose).

GG WP! It definitely felt like it was an uphill battle for you: I don’t think going down on cards was worth it and I don’t think WGD is a great choice against Nullcraft, but I understand wanting to try and get ahead of the peace engine. I definitely drew fortunately (ish? see my thoughts, not sure if DS would have been better) for the Garrison on turn 4.

As for the finals, I don’t have a good feeling about my chances but we shall see! @zhavier I believe it’s your turn on P1. Fair warning, though, that I am going on vacation tomorrow morning so my turn taking will be diminished
