Nasty split. At least I have a card I can play to thin my deck, and it might not be useless long-term.

I could try to go ninjas, just like I did last time against Hobusu. If I haste an invisible GN through, it’s enough to break a Garrison. The question is if I can do it in time, and if I’ll get swamped by weenies in the meantime. And with all that Garth/Vir card-draw, he could get to it again.

I’m also tempted to just go pure bashing and rush Duck. Could I get there before a rune-covered Mox or Nullcraft kills me? Rhinos and Stompers might be enough to keep me alive, especially if I have Iron Men early on. Doom Grasp could hose me. Still, it would make his normal strat slightly less efficient. It’ll be a tough choice, but I have until second tech to decide for sure.

Versatile style will be useful for getting rid of Battle Suits and disabling a boosted Nullcraft. Reversal can’t hit Nullcraft, and without the card-discard of Shadow Blade, it’s not really worth it against weenies.

Troq might be interesting. Wrecking Balls to break Garrison, and Final Smash to steal a Drill Sergeant? But that’ll be really hard to pull off against Netherdrain, which is guaranteed to be one of his first four techs.

The only way to protect a hero here is to go tinkerer, and that’s a free enough kill that I don’t want to do that. Unfortunately, I don’t have a much better move. I think I’m going to play for Mox + Fargo + Tech 1 next turn, and then bring Oni + Boot Camp for Mox. He doesn’t have any good way of dealing with mox (I guess Intimidate counts? but only just). Against White Starter and Safe Attacking, I’m going to keep Forgotten Fighter in the deck.

Teching Lich’s Bargain and Doom Grasp. I don’t really have something good to with my last 2 gold then, though. I could Time Spiral Plasmo in and patrol with it, but I think I’d rather just let it arrive naturally next turn. I can build tech 1 but I have no plans to use it yet. I could float it and build a hero’s hall next turn? Actually that sounds okay, I’ll go with that.

Well, I can rip that patrol apart XD Grabbing BC to fetch, and… what should my other tech be? I expect he’ll respond with Grave and a tower and a unit? If he gives me an out to suicide Garth, I’d love to do that, but I don’t know that I’ll get one. Still, I think I will bet that will happen and grab Elite Training. If I’m wrong, fine, I’ll tech up next turn to get 2nd hero access. I don’t want a tech 2 unit though, as I want to keep the value in my mox.

Okay cool, didn’t draw both Boot Camps, so at the very least if I want to keep Garth I can tech up and still have one waiting for me turn 7.

I have an easy rip on all his buildings, and am just one shy of lethal here (if I boot camp Grave out the way). If I can draw an elite training or Hammer or battle suits even, I’ve got it, so I’ll tech both, cycle a skeleton for another card quick before I suicide Garth, and see if I can hit the draw

Darn! that’s the only card that sinks my plan. Seriously, even the boot camp at least buys me a second shot… Oh well, we’ll just mop up next turn

I’m really wishing I’d teched a second Rhino early instead of Pig, though HE would have taken it out just as well. Think I should have gone Ninjas and Porcupines?

Yea I definitely think Ninjas would be a better tech 2 option. I almost didn’t build the tower, but looking at Bashing Tech 2 Pigs were the only thing I could see you teching out of the whole lot. Ninjas are tougher for me to answer, I think they would have bought a lot of grace to play for Tech 3 ducks.

I was sort-of expecting TPOS too, you did well to shy away from that as I had hard-teched Doom Grasp and that ended up being a dud when you just gave up Grave to patrol anyway.
