Thoughts

Man, I REALLY want to kill Cal, but yea, not enough damage  I mean, I have PLENTY of damage, but no way to break it up correctly. Without tech 3, I think I’m ok, worst case he feral strikes into 2 wandering mimics, but without flying… should be safe-ish? Even with flying, I do have anti-air
It is EXTREMELY jarring to give up 3g for using zane. It feels extremely punishing. 2g seems much more reasonable, ah well…

1 feral strike, i coulda maybe survived to do something, 2? thats gg.

Alas, I could not do enough to get cal down despite all that damage I had last turn

I am also finding the drawback on zane to be hugely punishing. Gold is far more versatile than hero levels, and the fact that using zane is always cost 2 g and give 3g to your opponent means they can swing back really hard.

It occurs to me I could have skipped killing midori with zane, skipping getting the card I knew I wouldn’t really need, instead using galina on midori and zane on tech, preventing some of your shenanigans there at the end, but live and learn.

GG WP!

I agree that the nerf to Zane is excessive. Not only is gold more versatile than free levels, you can often avoid giving up levels - if the opponent has no heroes, only maxband heroes, or if you kill a hero before they can benefit from the levels (or sometimes even force them to waste a maxband ability).

I suppose that, theoretically, you could make up for it by stealing some of the gold you’re giving up with Pillage or a GPT, but that seems like a longshot.

I could kill Rook with Wither and Spark, but then midband Zane revenge kills me and I’m down on cards and board presence.
I’ll threaten midbandori and just assume midband Rook will kill him, and hopefully Tiny B can keep that in check.

Midbandori’d Iron Men aren’t really cost effective against Mythmade Galinas, but if I can hit something with them, then CoL them into something bigger, they might work out. Of course, I’m gambling that zhav didn’t tech Entangling Vines.

I’m $1 short of doing the two things I’d like to do: either Tiny B + Flagbearer + HH to deal with Growth tech 2, or Tiny B + maxband & Bloom Midori to break the tech 2. Basically, I just want to keep Midori around to cast CoL and get more value out of his midband next turn.
I guess the reasonable thing to do with the gold I’ve got is tech up, and Balance is the safest choice. I might want to tech in a Ferocity next turn, to try and set up a wall with a swift-striking Potent B.

Sorry for the delay, thought id have time while I was traveling, and did not.

Not getting great value out of my cards here, but I do want to nip the Rook threat in the bud, so the trades are happening.
I’m guessing zhav just wants to see how the Growth engine works with the changes, which is cool. I still think walling up with swift-striking Basilisks is the right answer, though I would’ve liked to throw in some stealth… But even with the 0-cost, Chameleon strikes me as too low impact.

Ugh, Flagbearer actually has negative synergy with Cal’s midband…
I know I said I’d wall up, but I actually think I’ll go on the offensive here. Going down on cards isn’t too bad when I can sink gold into Midori and Cal.

Edit: I just noticed the change to Oversized Rhino, I guess it was one of the later additions. Damn, that’s just unfair compared to my Regular-sized Rhino…
