Woof nice double barrow draw. Yea man Necro + Blood + X is nasty, Garth can command the board and handle draws about as well (if not better than) Vandy, and along with Black starter is oppressive to face. Meanwhile Drakk compliments Garth so well, adding frenzy 1 to a horde and offering further unpredictable immediate board impact, and that doesn’t even touch on Graveyard + Blood tech 2’s obvious synergy. Makes chaining crashbarrows so much more possible.

I think it’s pretty clear that red starter suits the Growth plan much better. I thought Black starter would open up the Anarchy t3 better, and idk if I just had really rough draws or bad techs or bad patrols or what, but that was a big struggle-fest on my side.

Still, I’m game to run it back, I’ll get a P1 turn together maybe this afternoon (big day of work and gotta go vote here shortly!)

darn it, he had the graveyard. good trades for him. i think all i can do is drop Imp and tech in. as far as tech's go, i think ferocity would be fun, double down on getting board presence.

but if i play that out, i dont net a whole like. and if i just drop imp, he'll die next turn and ill have no board presence yet again. i need either bloodlust or kidnapping to get going here. ill hero's hall for now, and put sk jav in tech to make sure i get something useful. hopefully he has HE/LB again so i can get some good value here.

My Thoughts

Okay, what are the options here? Cala stealth or maxband will be a threat now for sure, as will a Kidnapping. Hero’s Hall means he wants to spend away from cards, and Technician makes me think he wants to make sure he draws a good one. Options are:

  1. BC + Tower, protects Garth. Could BC in lookout to discourage kidnapping (he’d have to skip worker). Don’t love it though.
  2. BC + Skele, SQL a skele. Allows Cala the stealth kill, but it makes him mortgage cards and I keep my Graveyard, which works nicely for me. Alternatively I could Summon Skeletons make extra sure I keep the Graveyard.
  3. BC + Midband Garth. Could SQL Garth, take it on the chin, and come back with Zane.

I think 2 makes the most sense, so what do we tech with that? Perhaps a Giant Panda (lessens Kidnapping risk)? Perhaps Chaos Mirror? Nether Drain and LB always seem like good ideas too… I do want to see if I can make the Anarchy T3 play work, but Growth may just be much more reasonable in this situation.

Is he thinking he can get away with a Feral Strike or something? Sac the Weak can shut that down in a hurry! Teching up was not a move I expected… I think this is decent position for me. Yes, I definitely need to pivot to Growth, but MoLaC is a super strong win condition for me now. Chaos Mirror should help with any giants I may need to deal with.
