Pretty horrible opening hand. Viper in SQL and Rook in elite keeps me from giving up free lvls, so I’ll probably end up just losing the $2 on Viper.

Oni is getting scary, soon he’ll be able to one-shot a tech building. I don’t have to worry about Lobbers yet, but Boot CampX2 would clear any patrol I can play.
I’ll do what I can. Monk goes in elite to threaten a Smoker revenge kill. Teching Bloodlust instead of Birds, cause Rook would just get murdered again, while Drakk can swing on arrival.
I don’t want to worker any of these cards, but Sensei’s Advice is the one I need the least.

Alrighty, I think we want to attack, but is maybe too costly. I’m gonna keep Onimaru about and use this Older Brother to fend off the worst stuff. I dislike workering the Flagbearer so I’m choosing to get rid of Bloom instead. I can achieve that effect with Boot Camp, if I really want to. I’m pre-emptively teching in Art of War to see if I can’t get Oni maxbanded shortly and use it to go to town.

I could kill Oni with Bloodlust on Drakk and Bomber, but I’ll be going down on cards and staying vulnerable to Lobbers.
I think I’ll just go ahead and tech up instead. If I only add a hero to patrol, I’ll rebuild handsize and force a reshuffle straight away. Then if Oni maxbands, I can just Snapback him out next turn. I’ll patrol Vir, to keep Rook available for a cheap Snapback.
Teching Hive and Xenostalker as answers to weenie armies and backline priority targets.

I think I’ve made some bad decisions to keep the board. Oh well, we’re committed. I think we’re gonna put Onimaru into Lookout to prevent Snapback shenanigans. Or at least make them more costly. He’ll have to spend 4 gold just to get rid of him which is the amount I’ve invested and that doesn’t even count the money he’s spent on heroes.

Can’t say I understand why flagrantangles would leave Oni at lvl 7. Even in the face of impending Snapback, the 3 soldiers are worth 1 gold (unless that 1 gold would be absolutely critical next turn).
I could punish that with maxband Drakk into a hasted Bomber, but I won’t get any free lvls, plus I’ll be throwing away the Xenostalker I drew off technician and the Bloodlust I’m drawing into.

Because he’s a sneaky cat! But in reality it’s because I forgot about Rook existing. Instead, Revolver Ocelot will stay in the backlines and do nothing. I’ll update my turn accordingly.

Huh, didn’t expect Fire tech. Firebird and Firehouse are both hard answers to Hives, but only if they get to tap. 4 Stingers should be able to kill them as they’re played, especially if Drakk survives, which I think only Flame Arrow can prevent.

That tech 3 sure looks like a bluff, but even if it isn’t, fire spells can’t do much against backline stingers. So unless flagrantagles can snipe Drakk or patrol an air unit, next turn is GG.

GG, honeycakes! I don’t know that I did play a good game, but it sure was fun to break away from what I usually do with this deck! That said, you absolutely did play a good game so congratulations!
I’m just happy I finally got to play the Hive combo for which this codex was conceived!
I was surprised by your choice to float on T4 rather than max Oni right then and there. I could’ve killed him with a hasted Bomber (which was my plan before I drew Xenostalker off the technician), and the 3 soldiers could’ve helped you punch through my patrol on the following turn.
I also didn’t expect the fire tech, and in retrospect banking on Hives when you had access to Firehouse and Molting Firebird was probably a huge mistake, but I guess it worked out
Also, forgot to tag @zhavier
