Good luck to you too - going easy on me, I see… thanks for that!

P2, Turn 1
  1. Smoker — Tech 0
  2. Snapback — Magic
  3. Grappling Hook — Magic
  4. Safe Attacking — Tech 0
  5. Morningstar Flagbearer — Tech 0 -> Worker

So, to have started with Primus over Hero+1 means his turn 2 hand has all 3 1-drops. That dramatically reduces the chance of Hook + Advice being both available, and he can’t kill Rook without both, so…
not that I have a 2-drop or sensei to play ::frown::

Option: Worker, 2 1-drops, Rook (draw 4 of 5)
Then - Worker, 2 more cards, Tech I (draw 1, rs, draw 2 of 5)
Then - Worker, Tech II, spend 2 gold, (draw remaining 3, possibly reshuffle + draw)
OR
Then - Worker, Tech I (draw 1, rs, draw 4 of 7)
Then - Worker, Tech II, spend ~ gold (draw 3 of 7 + 2 of ~5)

either way looks like going T3 Tech II is not the best move.

P2, Turn 2

So, Marto’s turn 3 could involve any of: Nimble Fencer, Sensei’s Advice, Level Up Rook
At the end of it, he could have:
L8 Rook vs. Nothing
OR
Nimble Fencer (2/1) (plus Safe Attacking in play, or Advice used up)
L3 Rook (2/2) + 2 gold or L5 Rook (3/5)
vs. Nothing

OR, if I patrol with Rook (and build tower?):
Nimble Fencer (2/1)
L3 Rook (2/1)
Fox Primus (breaks tower)

Heavily miscounted my gold, as I was sure I could play a 2g thing and level up. Now I can't punish his lvl up, as it would mean playing no card, and losing to Snapback.

Thoughts

I'm surprised EricF built a Tower and didn't pressure up. Well, so good for me. I've no real way to do anything this turn, so let's tech up. Theoretically, Strength II can beat Finesse II, but here, Eric managed not to reshuffle, so he should draw his stuff one turn before me, and that's not good.

Don’t forget to set your building HP on that Tech II.

with Safe Attacking I go very low on cards, but else Discord slays me… grave in Lookout should be considered, because Snapback -> River then Monk kills River (after buff) sounds a strong play, but any Grounded Guide + Fencer would thrive on it, and I know Eric often goes this way, so.

I believe Eric killed the Spartner

Oh. I was so sure he killed Fencer. Well. Redoing my turn

I’m calling it. GG !

As I was redoing my turn, I incidentally looked at Eric’s hand - trying to find my starting hand, as I shouldn’t have drawn with techn, I searched my “next hand” from the previous turn, and I found out I was reading the wrong post…
Doing so leads to me conceding, and anyway, this Discord would’ve had me, as I was up to double Fencer + Safe Attacking yours. No regrets, as I fumbled my second turn so hard.

Gg, sir! Glad to see that Discord plan (have one in to clean up surviving Fencers and/or kill birds) paid off.

@zhavier

That 1st turn split was brutal!

Congrats @EricF!

This was indeed a P1-dominated tournament

Marto is now down to 2 loses, after conceding to EricF. They are now both at 2 losses. 1 more Match with EricF going first. Continue in this thread.

So, If I end up winning, then Marto would have gone undefeated except for the mirror match against me? That’s dominance!
