Thoughts

I don’t like this hand very much, I can’t just put out units and wait to put down a surprise Drakk. And I drew both of my spells! I could either go with Midori and try for an early Circle of Life, or go for Rook and get out some Birds. Midori’s the best way to get some supplemental fliers going and threatens Nature Reclaims, so let’s go with that. It means codexnewb has to play around Rampant Growth next turn, too, even if I don’t actually have it.

Thoughts

Standard techs here, and getting my two main early-game units out. Not much in the way of anti-air threat here outside of Gunpoint Taxman, but there’s also no upgrade removal, so I’m leaning towards Strength for Mythed DeGrey to handle Lichs Bargains, with Circled units as backup. I might need Blood to quickly take out Blooming Ancients with Shoddy Gliders, though, we’ll see.

… Hopefully can go for an attack on Garth next turn with Rampant Growth out, Tiny Basilisk if not.

okay, decision time. do i double down on liches bargain? i think not, for now. with all the skeletons i have out there, could be bad. ill tech a BA and LB, but not really planning playing the LB for now. instead. save the second BA for Garth. if im able to get a handle on the board, then LB can come in later for a big swing turn.

how to patrol? midband midori puts wisp at 1/2. but with three patrollers, not sure if he wants to do that anyways. id love the tech draw, but i shouldnt get to greedy. skeletons to tech adn scav, as always.

well, if he doesnt kills my skeletons, what do i do with them? they might just be fodder…deteriorate, let them attack, then sacrifice to draw. win win win.

If I put down the Tiny Basilisk, codexnewb can kill the Wisp and the Panda with Garth and the Bone Collector, and kill Midori with the Skeletons.

  • Worker, TB, Tech II, everything but the Basilisk gets killed without assistance.
  • Worker, TB, Midband Midori, Wisp and Midori can kill the Bone Collector. I have TB and Panda for defence. codexnewb has 2 gold to work with if he doesn’t want to skip Tech II. He could StW the Panda, then easily kill Midori and level Garth, then fetch something to block the TB. Not worth the risk.
  • Worker, TB, YT, 3 gold for Rampant Growth + Crash Bomber, or something else. That puts me really down on cards.
    Looks like Midori gets to die for the cause.

… Missing DeGrey is a shame, but I have Bloodlust and Crash Bomber to clear things with.

hmmm, strength huh? well, need to watch out for kidnapping into barbarians. get all those runes. hopefully he thinks im going molac. also obviously mr degrey. but did he draw them? odds are no, but with tech, that puts him to about 30%, young treant, up to 42%, but less gold to work with.

so i think i need to play assuming he has degrey. it’s the best play regardless. if he has him, and drak, and kidnapping, and the whole kitchen sink, i wont feel too bad. ill just try and leave the BC’s on the field to be good alternatives.

bummer he has so many counters to my more natural plays. but lets leearn something new i guess. keep the cycle going high, force him to go at garth, etc… teching in blooming elm and surprise attack. need that hasty counter punch if all else fails. elm is good for IF i can get ancient down fast. and runes on the bone collectors.

This is going to suck. Going on defence only gets me Tiger Cub and Drakk as extras on defence, but I don’t think I can afford to let the Ancient live. I’ll just have to take that out and see what I have left to work with. Skipping a worker to avoid workering DeGrey, and because I want to tech in some more cards anyway – more Tech II units, probably the other Crash Bomber.
