Just noticed you skipped making a worker on T3. Donāt know if that was intentional, but you wouldnāt be able to build Tech2 on T4 as youāve 1 worker fewer than the 8 required.
Iām really struggling with finding a good opener against red. I donāt know if its my hand draws, or something Iām missing. We shall see

I canāt seem to find a good opener against red. I may have forced a Mox T1 without a good T2 hand to follow through. A Fading Argonaut would have been ideal here, otherwise Neo Plexus. Perhaps this wasnāt the best opening considering my T1 hand. Iām sticking with stewardess opener if I can draw her T3 then sheāll be useful, otherwise, T4 stewardess likely will lose value. He may be able to take my tech 1 out, but I think my best bet is to take that risk at this point.

Yeah Purpleās slow start is tough against Redās aggro, though Mox makes it expensive for me to try to blast through. And youāve the stronger Tech2s to look forward to.

Thatās true. If purple can hold out against redās aggro without losing too much tempo, then its a good set-up. Seems red needs to make those early efficient trades, even as P2, in order to be in good position.

Thoughts
Dealing 2 dmg to Jaina puts petE in a position where he either goes tech 2 and maxes Jaina without worker, or leaves her open to a Nullcraft kill. A GPT would at least take out the NC, but should still be worth it on my end. Definitely will bring in Geiger if I can pull of the kill for the free levels. Iāll likely bring him in regardless. Somehow my tech 1 survived this turn. I feel him taking it out would have been his best move if possible. Now I can slowly regain tempo and go for tech 2 asap where purple shines.

Teching 2 Tricycloids to deal with Jaina, whoāve I already dealt 1 dmg to thankfully. Heās taking a complete base race on from here. Iām suspecting heāll bring out Jainaās Burning Volley next turn with a good draw, to chip further away at my base, and maybe take out NC +/- Plexus, or even tech 2 if he wants. He may even skip tech 2 ? lets see. Tricylcoids + Now next turn will be great although Iām 1 gold short with Geiger and Worker. Killing Jaina regardless will be my priority.

Ouch-- heās brought my base down to 6HP already, which is damn impressive. Red can be so explosive int hese base races, Iāve never thought of Pillage being used like that just for base dmg. Interesting Play. He has the upper hand for sure, but I have a shot still I think. I had a good draw here with TC and Now, and taking out his Tech 2. I could have had Neo Plexus deal 3dmg to his Tech 1 building, although Iām thinking the base dmg is more important at this point. Geiger in SQL is safest bet-- canāt let him break through. Lobber + Zane next turn would be pretty bad. I think I need 2 more turns and Iāll win this base race, although I donāt think, with 6HP, iāll be around 2 turns. If geiger survies, max him out next turn + another TC.

That was the first time Iāve had such a base race. The game moves much quicker than I thought. Not really sure what I couldāve done differently to stop you. WP, youāve done red a good justice.
Youāre playing surprisingly well with Red for ānot having played much with themā previously =) Iām happy to keep these games going, switch red vs purple (see how you would play it), or try other monocolors if you want.
