GG! I don’t think a tech I break is worth it unless you can continue to follow it up with more building destruction. An alternate line for your T3 would have been to kill Dog with Monk, Monk lives, then hit Tech I for 3 with Graves. I think setting up a TI and TII kill in the future would have been a stronger aggressive start. But hey, that’s why we play games right?

I have had some pretty nice draws lately, Firebirds lined up right on time and then hitting my Gunship was obviously really good. I think MOST Tech III units look underwhelming compared to Gunship. White, in particular, has some pretty bleh Tech III units imo. I really like Daigo, but he’s super expensive, weirdly fragile (if they kill the building, he’s done), and since he can’t patrol all that investment gives you nothing to block with. Jade Fox I’ve written about IN DETAIL (Codex Card Discussion - Jade Fox is Underwhelming). There is a lot of anti-synergy in Ninjutsu that feels bad compared to say…Finesse or Truth which have straightforward tribal synergies. And then Oathkeeper is considered to be the best tech III for White. He’s super strong as he CAN play defense as well as just obviate the patrol line completely which is very Tech III-feeling.
Oathkeeper has always seemed to me one that only really works out if you have the advantage. The oath slows you down once played.
And is 5 for daigo really that expensive? It’s an untargetable 6 health building, so it’s not nearly as easy to pick off as most. Plus the +1/+1 for heroes helps for defense
I wanted to try Jade Fox for the first time, but after playing her I realized I had just confused myself on what her bonuses were. Mixing up Setsuki ultimate with jade fox meant no haste for ninjas, something I wanted from that play and messed up.
Well, He’s not “super-fragile”, that was a bit hyperbolic of me to say. I guess the big problem is that he’s not just 5, you also spent 5 on Tech III. Also he can’t patrol at all, so you have this 8 power thing you can use every turn, which is really good, but without Haste you are spending gold and showing your opponent what to do about it. The +1/+1 heroes is decent as well. I like the card, but according to players more experienced than I am, Daigo is not worth the gold.
And yeah, Ninjutsu has redundancy issues. I think the intent is for White to mostly win with its heroes, which is why White heroes have really good ults and their tech IIIs are not the greatest. Fox’s Den Students is much stronger than Jade Fox, and potentially easier to play!
oathkeeper can be used with max sets or grave MMastery for drawing, so you can pick the no discard draw, but yeah, he is the only tech III white that’s decent. Daigo is useless, cuz no haste and no way to give it to him (is a token and untargetable) while jade fox is one of the worse Tech III of the game, imo. Red has good tech IIIs outside fire (Cdragon is terribad compared to the similar guargum, and flying does not even the massive power gap). Vortoss has past (top tier tech 3) and future (decent) but present sucks. Blue only decent TIII is truth thanks to haste and its sinergies.
