Yeah, I was oddly happy that Geiger died.

Of course, out of 5 cards in my deck, drawing 4, I didnā€™t get Origin Story. Thatā€™s bad. Prynn HAS TO survive this turn. I can Now! a Tricycloid, attack with it then fire off its runes to lay down some massive damage, but that wonā€™t help against Rook.

Well, things are bad. I techā€™d in Porcupines because I forgot I was playing ā€œDirtyā€ White and thought I was being clever by teching before I started building tech II. Clever indeed :frowning: Anyway, I decided to try Finesse out because I was having loads of fun with the fencers and it seems to be goingā€¦OKish. The Immortal is definitely a problem and maybe I need to tech Entangling Vines? This is one of the only times I feel like I legitimately wonā€™t win without Tech III, so here goes!

@IsotopeX Hmm, I was just reading Temporal Distortion. It sounds like you canā€™t distort for something more expensive and since Hyperion costs 5 and Immortal costs 6 I think you need to pick something else to transmuteā€¦

I donā€™t know why I thought Hyperion costs 6. Anyway, letā€™s make it a Xenostalker instead.

The first time I played Purple, I thought I was being so clever by using Temporal Distortion to turn my Shimmer Rays into Immortals, until I learned thatā€™s an illegal moveā€¦

By Virtuoso I assume you mean Maestro, yes? Also, if you want to change your play given the change in my unit, go ahead.

Ah, right you are. He is a Maestro first and a Virtuoso second

Iā€™ll stick with the same set-up - make you go through Rook if you donā€™t have Origin Story and try and get a card off Grave.

Drew 4 of the 5 cards in my deckā€¦didnā€™t draw Origin Story. And then I remembered Geiger has a way to deal with thatā€¦

Ok, not sure I have that great of a response, but here goes!

Also it seems like you started with 4 cards, discard and drew your 5th, then cast Origin Story and hired Tricycloid, so you should have discarded 2 and drawn 4 new ones? Unless you workered or somethingā€¦ You also spent 3 gold to level Geiger to 3, which should only cost 2! So I think you floated a gold as well.

[details=Thoughts]Well I havenā€™t exactly lost yet. I also managed to break his Tech II which means no Hyperion or Tech III next turn. These are good things. On the negative side, I drew both Blademasters and of course he popped my tech III (Thanks Tech Grave, youā€™re fired!). So River is in Tech in case he has Stewardess to bounce Savior Monk, I want that 5th card. Iā€™ve also workered away both Porcupine so I should be able to play anything I draw, conceivably. Next Turn Iā€™ll have plenty of things to spend gold on, as both Rook and Grave are available again. He does have a pretty nasty board, but I think he will have to keep breaking Tech III so Iā€™m not sure he can pull off the trifecta of breaking all my tech buildings.

However, if I were him he could attack with Tricycloid, then throw 2 counters at Tech II, breaking it. Unstoppably attack Tech I with Xenostalker, breaking it as well. If he had a stewardess that means River is dead too at this point, since Tricycloid could easily kill river. Then he has Prynn and Geiger attack Tech III for exactly 5 damage and he can max Prynn off Riverā€™s death a single gold. So my base takes 6, all my tech is broken, but he didnā€™t mess with the band. That means I might be able to get a good attack in!? And if I can land a Rook-defense on a turn when he doesnā€™t have Origin Story, that would be greatā€¦[/details]

Youā€™re right, I redid that turn several times, and the early versions included using Now! I think I discarded that without thinking about it. Iā€™ve drawn an extra card and added the extra gold.

Also, stop dancing all over my buildings. This is the future. There will be no dancing.

The game goes on, but itā€™s looking grim. That was a really bad 50/50 draw for me, Nimble Fencer would have meant I could break his Tech II again. If my blademasters hadnā€™t clumped up or if my Fencer had come through, I might have had a way to stay in the game. As it is, I think this is the end. Heā€™ll probably Temporal Distortion, Now!, Hyperion, and maybe even Origin Story all over my board. GG

Guh. No tech Lab, yes 2 time runes.

I think you guys may have missed this a few turns back, but Maestro is not a Virtuoso himself, and thus cannot tap to damage buildings :frowning:
