@NikoBolas, why is Grave 4/5+A? Shouldn’t they be 4/4+A because of the tower damage?

Sensei gave armor which absorbed the tower hit!
I think you should only have 4 cards after your last cycle. You had a 5-card hand T3, then on my T4 I killed Technician so you drew a card up to 6. Then on your T4 you played Verdant Tree, Tiger Cub, and Merfolk Prospector, plus you made a worker so that’s 4 cards used.
Nice Patrol set-up!

@NikoBolas I concede. Being able to one-shot stuff with Ember Sparks and later wreck stuff with Molten Firebird using Hotter Fire was my trump card, and I was pretty much dead after turn 2 or 3 anyway.
This went better for me than my matches against @Jadiel, but I’m still worried that this spec setup (specifically Fire & Ninjutsu) is just uncompetitive. Either that or I’m conceding early because I don’t understand how red specs work.
I really really really like Fire spec, but I think especially if you plan on using Hotter Fire, you need the red starter. I did put a lot of pressure on you as P1 so I think having a defensive hero like Rook/Arg/Garth might help more than say, Setsuki. The second game you built a Tower and it was a really troubling thing to deal with. The first game had you built one instead of Tech II, I would have gotten a lot less value from my birds and the mid/end game would have played out much differently. Some of that is just practicing as P2 against aggressive P1 openings. If you can’t defend your Tech II building then it’s probably better to get even on the board before you build it.
I’m not sure exactly what synergy there is with green starter/fire tech II/setsuki, but I think maybe if you switch the starter and/or setsuki you might see better results.
The main synergy I find is around stealth and Behind the Ferns, though that’s not related to the starter. I chose this set because Jaina and Sets are my mains in other FS-universe games, and then I picked a third to round it out. I should go with Rook, but since I also tend to pick exclusively female characters in fighting games, I wanted to see if that was viable here. Given that restriction, I should probably go with Vandy, but I’ve no experience with Demonology and some experience with Feral.
