No Tech I, eh? If he’s gonna be limited to tech 0 units, I’ll rush Stewardesses. Though if he didn’t rush Fencers, I wonder what he teched in… let’s have a peek. … Hmm, I want to shut down that Bird’s Nest for sure, but that only leaves $1 to work with. With Bloodlust sealed, I could just SQL Onimaru to discourage the Ogre from attacking, but Drakk’s midband would mean a even trade, so no good. Better to trade Onimaru now and avoid giving away levels. If he wants to haste something after that, he’ll have to spend $7 to maxband Drakk and spend his last $1 on the Dog.

Thoughts

Levelled Rook is hard to kill and troublesome to leave alive, so I’ll try to have Prynn remove him. I’d rather build a Tech II this turn then pop her in as a surprise, but I’m $1 short, and I don’t want to float $2+ against Red. Unless he has Entangling Vines in hand, 3 patrollers should be enough to protect her and Newsman, so I’ll play her now.

Thoughts

Arrest is particularly effective against Bloodrage Ogre, yet the trade is still advantagous to Red by 1 card, and P2 is better equipped to make use of that advantage. Better to just trade Onimaru. It’s a shame to waste a card by discarding 4, but it’s not worth delaying Tech I units or fielding a patroller that requires less investment to clear than Bigby. I am a bit worried about giving away free levels to Red aggression with $8, but at least he’ll have to reduce his hand size if he wants to make that happen.

Thoughts

As luck would have it, I might have been better off Arresting the Ogre so it could be replayed and the Inspector could copy it. I’m late getting the Newsman as well, which is all kinds of dangerous against River, though hopefully the possibility of it dropping will have discouraged teching her spells… though without the Tech I building, that’s a long shot. I probably would have been better off teching Scribes. The worst part is that I should float $2, but can’t, because he might have Pillage in hand. Oh well, at least I can slow him down a bit, and if he attacks with River, she’ll have a hard time healing. Stashing the Director to ensure I have a good choice to worker next turn.
