Well, this is interesting. I know full well how potent that hero combination can be, having played it in my most successful tournament to date, but if he were planning to combo Maestro and Flagstone Garrison, he’d likely want to go Neutral starter, as I did. Which suggests he’s not planning to spec into Finesse, but wants River for some other purpose… perhaps Appel Stomp / Dreamscape combo? If so, my deck should be somewhat resilient against that strategy, but it’s still a significant threat. I’ll need to keep an eye out for maxband River. For now, though, I’ll just go for the persistent Haunt opening because I know how effective it is against Blue starter.
